Quality set of trainers there mate. Very impressed. I grew up in Liverpool in the 70's & 80's and ended up being a trainer nut too - particularly adidas. I have about 70 odd pairs now cant stop buying them (only the classics, mind) .......Nice work!

Yes of course, but the more you own the less wear time each pair gets, I do have a pair of 'beaters' that I wear day to day too (Gazelles)

Nice collection. Quite a few ive not got. The shocking colourways could be a good thing. Less popular means rarer. I like rarer :-) I used to go for bright colours but im getting on a bit now so tend to stick to the boring browns. I should get some of the big soled trim trabb and munchens. And sambas too. You just think they are always gunna be around so i buy others instead....i hope youve kept your boxes tho. Id love to display mine but just havnt the space....any road up....cracking collection

Great collection! The sneaker I bought with my first salary in 1980 was a blue and white Adidas model Volley OG, I'm hoping that Adidas would produce it again as a special series. Unfortunately the quality of the sneakers is very bad these days, they do not last 1 year without taking off the parts or tearing in the folds, this is the modern world, you buy a product, you pay for it and it lasts absolutely almost nothing!

Have you bought a pair of the SPZL Mounfields to go along with the Ian Brown's? You're lucky that you get to keep yours on display. Most of mine [meagre compared to your collection] are locked away in boxes in 2 wardrobes so the Mrs doesn't know what I've been buying: 'What these old things? Had 'em ages love, just never worn 'em out before.' I've told her that should I find a pair of unworn Korsika leisure shoes or ZX600 in grey/yellow in my size then they are being bought whatever they cost though. Really love that pair of Volley of yours, must've missed them whenever they came out, similar shape and toe to Indoor Super which I believe are being reissued tomorrow as part of the latest SPZL collection. I've always loved Adidas trainers and most of my friends don't believe me when I tell them there used to be Bamba's, Mamba's and Samba's. My first ever Adidas were a pair of Kick in about 1976, that ages me and I've never grown out of it. Only ever owned one pair of trainers that weren't Adidas, a pair of Nike Omega Flames in 1986 and apart from a couple of pairs of smart shoes for weddings, funerals and court appearances, all my other shoes are Clark's Originals or variants of, but they rarely bring out anything that gets me excited these days. Clark's desperately need someone like Gary 'Adidas' Aspden to go through their 'back catalogue' as I tell them in emails, but they don't seem to want to know.
