My CBR1000RR is for touring only so lots of miles and lots of chain tension checking. With hard bags mounted, adjusting the chain is a PITA. With the Lightech, it's a breeze. A quick adjustment can now be done in about 1 minute, all from the rear of the bike - loosen the axle nut, one click adjustment to each side, tighten the axle nut. Done.

The one thing I haven't had to worry about for a while. If I did get another road bike these adaptors look like a must have though.

I would say that chain looks a bit tight in both the beginning and in the end of the video. Probably would've backed it off another 1/4 turn. Better to have a chain that's a bit too loose than too tight. Better for the gearbox and actually makes the chain wear less. I have been thinking about getting, or making something to make it a bit quicker / easier to adjust the chain. The adjusters are interesting, even if I thinnk they don't look that good Also, as a sidenote: I only probably look at my chain once every couple of weeks. Definitely not every couple of rides and I do >500km a week commute (2016 Fireblade) and the occasional leisure ride. Good to see some uploads again!

Each to their own but the factory adjusters work easy enough without adding extra to the bike (06 zx6r) for me. Your bike is very nice mate BTW!

The 20-24 R1 has a different rear swing arm than the MT-10. The 2019 R1 has the same rear swing arm as the MT-10 so when people say these chain adjusters fit the R1 and MT-10 that's not true.

Semi unrelated question. What tyres do you run on the daily? And how many k's do you get out of them? Only asking because i currently pay for my brother, on his daily he runs pirelli rosso corsa's, 190/50 17 on the rear, and the front is skinnier. But 2000km is typically when he replaces the rear, the fronts last a bit longer. The last 190 i bought was $390 from mca and those bums wanted stupid money to fit it without ballancing it plus, they wanted the wheel off the bike and said it was a 9 day wait. The wreckers around the corner fitted the tyre for $50. Granted, yeah the wheel was off and we supplied the tyre, but considering we dropped it off late arvo, it was ready to be picked up 9am the next morning.

Pirelli is great for track but Michelin is a great option for a daily tire.

Are these Lighttech or the Chinese version? I fitted the Chinese ones from AliExpress yesterday but they’re coming straight off. Too many compromises for me. 1) axle has to feed through from the ‘wrong’ side 2) chain adjuster does not provide a solid base like the oem adjuster block 3) axle nut sits too close to the end of the axle when torqued to spec and can’t get a cotterpin through the castle nut and axle which is the biggest issue and would be a MOT fail. Bike is a ZX6R

Your original chain adjusters are literally better than mine. Mine only give you a limit forwards and not backwards, so you need to constantly hit and kick your wheel to have it actually touch the adjusters. Fucking nightmare. Then again, I guess at least they don't require you to go mega fiddly with those nuts like on your original adjusters.

As a biker for 40+ years,the standard factory chain adjusters work just fine, and not difficult to adjust,but for the brain cell deficient riders, i guess these types of adjusters are needed.Lets face it, if you have a decent chain,thats well maintained,adjustment is only req every 500 miles or so.Unless your a crazy rider, that rides a 500hp turbo equiped 2 wheeled rocket.Also when adjusting your chain,rotate the rear wheel, as chaines dont ware evenly, you then adjust at the smallest deflection point.
@22Epic
@22Epic 2 жыл бұрын
Mate, I think you forget that some people ride their bike on the track. When you change tires every few trackdays (and sometime multiple times a day if you are doing competition) then you're happy to have a chain adjuster allowing you to easily set your tension.
@enoz.j3506
@enoz.j3506 2 жыл бұрын
@@22Epic Fair enough,for track days i get it,done a few myself and yes chaines do take a pounding on track,so these would be better,i was talking more general riders,and lets face it ,most have not been near a track,but i take what you say onboard.
