Thank you, thank you, thank you. I bought a new serger and it started out sewing well, then it went bananas. I was getting ready to pack it up, when I decided to look for a tutorial to see if I could figure out the tension. Thanks a million, now I will be the serger.

Thank you for this tutorial, it helped me understand that all sergers may not perform alike, and how to find that perfect coordination for any serger. I was, however, pretty dizzy from all the camera movement at the end, but I took notes and only need to watch it once and understand. Thanks again! :) UPDATE: This was such an excellent method to find the right tension on my machine, and I thank you once again VERY MUCH for your video, it worked out GREAT for me!! :)

Excellent! Thank you! I’m finally serging again. I have an older Singer serger that I’ve never had good tensions. This took me a full day to do but is totally worth it. My tensions ended up at left needle 3.5, Right needle 4.5, Upper looper 6.25 and Lower looper 5.5. So it’s no wonder the factory settings never worked and my serging was awful. Everyone’s machine is sooo different! Again thank you! Oh and that all the other tensions are at 3 to start with really makes sense. Yeah!!

Thank you for your video. I think how you did the separate threads each on a sampler was great....trouble is with a serger, we have to change the tension, more often than not, for each type of different fabric we use....but, this is a great way to sort things out, to ensure our tension, and which needle/looper is causing an issue. Thank you very much.

1:49 wait! Doesn’t she have this all backwards? Isn’t a higher number mean higher tension? Boooooooo! 🤷♀️ 🙂
