In the past, I've done videos demonstrating a little trick you can do with the Radial Filter. Also, I've done other videos demonstrating Range Masks. In this video, I combine those two techniques and add a small twist that will help you adjust very precise parts of an image. ** I am an affiliate for all of the companies listed EXCEPT Affinity Photo. Love the new intro...and, as always your content. Just the best explanations of all things Adobe.

Thanks, Anthony, very helpful. I also noticed in working with an image that I can have more than one radial filter and therefore can adjust say the sky and with another adjust the foreground. Very nice!

Brilliant! Many thanks, Anthony, your videos are the clearest, most concise ones out there to help us amateurs learn Lightroom & Photoshop tricks.

Thank you Anthony for an excellent way to isolate a part of my images. I’ve had a bit of a struggle earlier today with isolating parts of an image, I thought of the range masking idea but I got lazy and put the editing away ‘till tomorrow. This tutorial has kicked my backside. Thanks Anthony.

Timing is everything. I just got through this video, which was great. However, the new version of Lightroom adds a new AI masking. I hope you can get the new version soon and give us an update. K eep up the great work. Your videos are the equivalent of a college level editing class, just better presented.

Once again I don’t have a specific picture to try this on, yet. But I’m going to file this away like I did your freaky amazing detail video and come back to this in the future! Thank you Anthony.

Your image of the tree initially struck me as a weathered face with wise old eyes! (The large knots on two of the limbs are the eyes, and the center limb is the nose, becoming the mouth at the bottom.)

Thank you Anthony. Just what the doc ordered for my latest images. Sorry I really don't care for this new intro at all nor the music. The past one was way more pro. My opinion.

Be interesting to see when the new making features come out soon how you might want to modify this (if at all). :)

Nice and clear, as usual! One question; there was a triangular area between the two branch area which I noticed was being affected by the adjustment, is there a way of removing that from the selection? TIA.
@richardzelinka94113 жыл бұрын
I noticed the same thing, also a couple of small areas on the left side. You can use a brush, click on erase and brush away the adjustment from these areas. I would leave on the red mask overlay to make it easier to identify the areas where the effect is being removed. There may be an easier way, but this is how I remove an effect that extends into to places I don't want it.

Very nice trick but in a few hours it all will be out of date. New version of Lightroom is going to change all masking completely.
