Great points about the handle width. It's nice that you recommend the 35mm handle and have experience with the 33mm. I've got some 33mm Rogue Competition Bells but I'm interested in getting some bells that are much more "competition legal" than what I already have.

is the bell size exactly the same measurements as the completion kettlebells? I understand that the handle size is identical.
@weightliftingdoc40423 жыл бұрын
Yes they are the same size as traditional competition bells.

Having used RKC bells for a number of years (off and on), I've been interested in getting at least one competition style. I'm curious how (or if) the center of gravity changes with the bell as the weight changes. In other words, does adding/removing weight change the distribution such that it swings differently (other than being heavier)? Does that make sense?
@weightliftingdoc40424 жыл бұрын
It definitely swings differently because of the different weight distribution but I don’t really know how to quantify it. However the sizes are standardized and the same for the various weights so it tends to sit well in the pocket of the rack position. It also has standardized window sizes of the handles so that it sits comfortably in the rack and catch position of the snatch. That being said I believe these standardizations allow for better adaptability to the high rep sets of kettlebell sport. Hope that helps.

@@weightliftingdoc4042 thank you very much for your quick reply. Much appreciated. I do have one of the KBK 'fitness' version of the competition bell (35#) that I like. I got it precisely because of how it sits in the rack position. With the RKC I did mostly swings and cleans. I found my grip was wrong in the rack, because the 12 and 16kb RKC bells sat right on my wrist. I borrowed a friend's competition bell and was sold on the new style, even for 'hard style' exercises. I am wondering if i'm overthinking there would be a significant difference in how the adjustable KB would swing in snatches vs. a standard 'competition' styled bell. I suspect that if you used it and a standard comp bell of the same weight for double cleans + presses, they'd be close enough that it wouldn't be an issue...or am I incorrect?
@weightliftingdoc40424 жыл бұрын
@@MTimWeaver It depends on what type of adjustable kettlebell. The adjustable competition one I have from kettlebells kings I feel swings exactly like the other competition bells. Other adjustable kettlebells may swing or sit differently due to bigger window and/or square shapes.

@@weightliftingdoc4042 I was specifically referring to the Kettlebell Kings adjustable in my initial and followup comments. Good to know...i wasn't sure if it would swing differently as you added or subtracted weight. Thank you again!

@@weightliftingdoc4042 So, I picked up one of these adjustables and really like it. There is a slight size difference between it and the 35# 'fitness' competition style bell that Kettlebell Kings sells. Nevertheless, when I did some double cleans, the difference was small enough that I took no notice of it when performing the movement. Thanks again for the review and your replies.

thanks for the review. I've been pondering doing a pair of these vs pairs in varying, static weights. Do you find that there are particular moves that are difficult to do with these?
@weightliftingdoc40424 жыл бұрын
sevynn3970 You can do anything with these that you can do with any competition kettlebells. Also kettlebells vs other free weights, I personally find these more functional but also do use dumbbells at times.

Hi doc, great review! Would you still recommend this setup after using it for a couple of years? Were there any concern after using it long term?
@weightliftingdoc40424 жыл бұрын
William Pan I still like them a lot but if you are training for kettlebell sport I would recommend their individual weight kettlebells with the inner core technology. Otherwise these are still great!

Thank you. It looks like a pain to change weights though..does that bother you, specially when doing a workout and you have to stop everything to change weights? I am an athletic 48 year old male, muscular, about 180lbs. I have a 12 and 16kg kettlebell. Been debating between the king's adjustable kettlebell or single kettlebells. I will be using them pretty much for kb swings, snatches and some other exercises but mostly for swings. My 16kg got light so I been doing lots of reps with it on conditioning days. Been looking at the rep fitness adjustable kb that goes up to 24kg who's is supper easy to change
@weightliftingdoc40424 жыл бұрын
If you are making multiple weight changes per workout it can be a bit more time consuming but if you are using it for snatches and cleans this style is exponentially better than standard adjustable kettlebells. It fits better and is designed for Kettlebell sport movements like those. Swings it won’t matter. Those are my thoughts. Cheers!

@@futbol1972 i assume that by now you made your purchase but if you haven’t keep in mind that the easy to adjust rep fitness come with the “can dig into your wrist” feature. It’s a bad design imho

Hi. I’ve been trying to get into kettlebell juggling recently. I’ve been using a cast iron 35lb kettlebell. I can flip it but it’s a little too heavy for me to do it for a long time. I am looking at buying a kettlebellkings competition kettlebell. I’m thinking about the 12kg but I also like the adjustable 12-32kg kettlebell that gives me room to grow. I’ll also be using it for rep work and would like to be able to slowly progress in weight. Do you know if the adjustable kettlebell can be juggled as good as the regular competition? Will it be durable enough to be repeatedly dropped on grass? Does the weight distribution closer to the top of the kettlebell affect it’s performance while being juggled? I appreciate any help I can get deciding to go with the adjustable or fixed.
@weightliftingdoc40423 жыл бұрын
Kettlebell Kings and Kettlebells USA are the two best quality kettlebells I have come across. You can't go wrong with either.

I would not use the adjustable for juggling. If it takes too much impact test could bend the stem that the plates slide on.
@futbol19724 жыл бұрын
It looks good but I don't think I will like changing weights all the time:( Looking to get the rep fitness adjustable kettlebell goes up to 53lbs with just twisting the top knob
@weightliftingdoc40424 жыл бұрын
That would probably work but not if you are looking to use it for competition training. The handles and bell size are specific for competition training. For general training though it should be fine. Just my thoughts.
