I got some for my ZX9 but couldnt get on with them because of the foot position. So i made 2 plates from 10mm aluminium to sit between the frame and the original footpeg hanger which dropped it by 30mm and put it 30mm rearwards. Its very comfy now and my foot position is exactly the same 🖒🖒

Yeah I can see how the wider position might not be ideal for all bikes/riders. Time will tell for me. Home made is almost always best, as it's literally made for you! Sadly it's also the expensive way here, as everything you make yourself has to be tested. Very pricey route to take!!

Ive put an LSL peg kit on, but am presented with the quandary you had: bend the control levers, or restore the standard pegs and buy , say, a TDM 900 with a much cosier seating position. Did you try anything else after removing the LSLs or just change bikes ? Cheers pal

So Andy, in the "Stuff I use" menu, I don't see the GPS mentioned. In the Croatia videos it appears it might be a Garmin Zumo . What model is it, and how do you like it? I've been watching reviews of the Zumo 395LM, and it seems some people hate the user interface. "Adventure Rider" on KZbin even sold his and replaced it with a Tomtom Rider 400.
@AndyManCam6 жыл бұрын
Good spot!! Better get that fixed. Mine is just the 345LM. It has no 'curvy roads' feature and a slower CPU i think. Personally i find the curvy roads to be hugely flawed. The interface is often a bit laggy due to the slow processor but in use it works just fine. No complaints about the interface.

with the lack of cable management in this video, I will add some of my own. Any tips for managing a long mic cable in a helmet? Got a new Lavalier mic for my vids with about 4m of cable I need to find find room for. For now I coiled up the cable into 2 seperate coils placed in what space there is in the padding and then I tucked the rest into various crevices around the helmet. Nor sure if there are better ways.
@AndyManCam6 жыл бұрын
That's the same as what i have done for the last 3 years. Until i got the X3000 cam from Sony which seems to treat the coils of wire as an antenna for picking up radio interference from the wifi, gps and Bluetooth functions. So i took the extreme step of cutting the wire and resoldering it with only 6" of cable from plug to mic. 2 birds, 1 stone!

Rear end jack up kits upset the seat attitude causing you to slip forwards, only slightly but enough to add pressure to you know what as your jeans tighten. It's only apparent after a long ride or heavy braking .
@AndyManCam6 жыл бұрын
It also quickens up the steering and reduces the turning circle 😉 During braking one should really be squeezing the tank with ones thighs rather than leaning on the bars. No wrist pressure and better handling. Also I've already put a bit of extra foam into the front of the seat and eventually i plan to raise and widen the bars a little bit. Though tbh you've just highlighted my own worries. I'll be keeping the original linkage just in case it doesn't work for me!

I always wondered how those would work with one's feet further out.The Versys has a kit from the US (Motowerks) that isn't adjustable but starts right from the joint. If you so jack up your Fazer (I considered doing the same thing with an FZ8) maybe you should look for a fork raiser too, since jacking up the back alone is going to pitch you slightly more forward onto the bars which might be uncomfortable on long journeys to various organs, sea ones and others.
@AndyManCam6 жыл бұрын
So far in use, they've not been too bad. Once you get used to 'looking' for a spot 3/4 of an inch further out with your feet, you find the right spot every time. I did end up bending the levers out slightly, but only by a degree or 2. Not so much that they look like they've been vandalised!! I'm OK with the idea of pitching the bike forward a tiny bit as it will quicken the steering and shorten the turning circle. I'm lead to believe by the forums that that is how the bike should have been from the start. We'll see. In any case, the long term plan is to put slightly higher and wider bars on anyway. I just have to wait til I sort out some Stainless brake lines and longer clutch/throttle cables to make that possible. So no Sea organs need be damaged in the long term!

I have to, otherwise I just end up shredding my knuckles! As a semi-professional musician, I have to protect these moneymakers!!

Good video but these things on a gxsr suck. Its a poorly designed product..they push your foot too far outward... and as another youtuber said "they feel more dangerous than anything". I couldnt believe that, so i ordered the shinobis for 60$ and he was dead on! For a gsxr and probably a lot of other bikes, you wanna go straight down, if you must move them.....and even then you'll have to move your shifter and brake to correlate. Inch and a half is a LOT, in relation to your brake and shifter, but id still feel better with another inch of leg room (2 1/2 inches), but that aint gonna happen on a gxsr. Main reason is gears and shift wouldnt move enough to compensate.

Totally agree. The movement outwards is less than ideal.

You didn’t gain ground clearance , now your boot will trail the ground instead of the foot peg
@AndyManCam4 жыл бұрын
But the boot/edge of the new peg is higher up than the lowest position of the hero blob on the old peg. That means the bike will lean further before ANYTHING touches the floor. Therefore, more ground clearance.

@@AndyManCam the pegs don’t leave as much room for you foot in the width and your foot will point down in front of the peg, try it out but I’m sure your toe will touch down before the peg, either way I still want to try them for myself. Thank you for the good comparative camera shots and good luck with your results.

But that’s a good thing. The peg would originally touch down way before the toe would. I think we’re going to have to agree to disagree on this one, but i found the ground clearance greatly improved.

All this cost around 20euro on ebay, chines stuff, LSL just buying cheep chines foot pegs and re branding them. My friend bought "original" and I bought chines one, and they are absolutely same. LSL re branding and ripping off people. By the way, nice video.

If you'Re right, that's great! I've sadly heard of many chinese 'versions' of more expensive equipment failing and causing very dodgy situations! Each to their own I suppose!

@@AndyManCam for now I don't have any issues with mine, I put around 3k with them. I am just not happy that you actually loos a lot of footpeg length becouse L shape lovering part. You will loos around inch and a half or 4cm something like thay. So they are really uncomfortable and I needed some time to adjust my self on wired profile of this footpegs. By the way you will need some nut treadlock.
