Hi AMC I fitted one of these last year to my Triumph sprint St, it's preformed flawlessly ever since. One thing I did was set the rpm cut off to its minimum, this allows me to clutchles shift even in light traffic conditions

Hi Arron. I'm really impressed with it so far too! I found it a little clonky at low revs, but that was without trying to fine tune. Quickshifts in traffic woud be nice!

How do you mean? The QuickShifter shouldn’t have anything to do with those. I’m guessing that youtube shunted you on from the Thunderbox video? I guess if something really needs to stay on, you’d have to go direct to the battery. Though if it’s battery backed, this means that you’ll not need to worry about it killing your battery. Don’t most trackers last for months before they need another charge?

Is it possible to disable quickshifting between 1st and 2nd ?
@AndyManCam6 жыл бұрын
I'm honestly not too sure. I think it deals with compression, or lack thereof. So how much it's being squeezed. I don't think you can disable shifts between 1 and 2. Only below a certain rev range. Though I've found even shifts between the first 2 gears to be far better than expected.
@trykozmaksym6 жыл бұрын
That thing must be very sensitive because the compression probably changes very little - because of the splines. Have you had any "misfires"? How consistent is the shifting?

How do downshifts work with this?? Can you clutchless downshift because it blips for you or do you need to blip yourself??

You have to blip for yourself I'm afraid. The bike really needs to have a ride by wire system to allow for a blipper.

That’s very complicated as you’d need one with a blipper. Sadly a blipper is pretty much impossible without a fly by wire throttle. TBH I’ve never missed downshifting and i even didn’t use it when I’ve ridden bikes with that feature. I prefer to blip the throttle myself!

can it change gears down or only up?
@AndyManCam Жыл бұрын
It can change down and up, but doesn’t blip the throttle, so downshifts will be a bit jerky and probably not great for the gearbox.

One thing I wondering if u set a quick ie 7000rpm dose the quick shift still work if revs go past or lower rpm .as it's hard to check rpm when rideing ?
@AndyManCam4 жыл бұрын
The RPM setting is a cutoff. So it will not work below those RPM but will work above. I have mine set at 3000rpm, so it will not work from 0-2999rpm, but anywhere from 3000 - redline, the shifter will operate as normal. I've never really had to check the revs as you just get a feel for where the shifter cuts in.

Does it have to be full throttle for the quick shifter to work?
@AndyManCam4 жыл бұрын
No, not at all. As long as you're accelerating, it will work. Obviously the harder you're accelerating, the better it works. 😜

Did you do a testing video? Cant find it anywhere!?!?!?!

No, sadly not yet. Though it’s still on the bike so I’ve been ‚testing‘ in every video since! 😜

Hi andy, just a quick one I’ve just bought one of these for my R6 and just want to know does it do down shifts? I know it won’t blip but does it do the ignition cut?... also how did you find out the best kill time settings?
@AndyManCam5 жыл бұрын
Hi Greg. If your shifter rod is in the right orientation (push or pull, I can't remember) then it will cut the ignition for downshifts but, as you say, it won't blip. This means it doesn't make for the cleanest downshifts and I have found that sometimes it actually kills the ignition at the exact moment I've wanted to blip the throttle. You can install it so that this doesn't happen, and I'll be doing that as soon as it's warm in my garage!! TBH with regards to the settings, I still have everything on adaptive and defaults!! Seems like the best place to start! But the App gives you tips on what each setting does and also what changing the setting will affect.
@gregparkes80895 жыл бұрын
Andy thanks for the response... just a last one how do you install it to stop it doin it? Because I’ve seen loads of places that you can put the sensor... FYI I have standard shift in place
@gregparkes80895 жыл бұрын
Andy.... when you plugged the piggy back plugs in is their an order in which they should go? Like are they numbered? Also the 2 plugs with the red marker on do they both plug into the same coil pack or do you split them between 2 coil packs? Or and lastly does the red marked ones have a specific coil to go on? Thanks.
@AndyManCam5 жыл бұрын
As far as I remember, they’re not numbered but they are paired. So each pair has to go to the same cylinder. The marked plugs are important but I forget why. I mentioned in the video somewhere!

Is this working on up and down shifts?

Yes, although it doesn’t have a blipper so the downshifts can be a bit clumsy.

One question, what is if i shift with the clutch an the quickshift is mounted ?
@AndyManCam4 жыл бұрын
Hab ja schon direkt geantwortet, aber für das gemeinsames Publikum: Works completely normally with the clutch. Sometimes during downshifting, the ignition can be cut just as you blip the throttle. Happened to me a little bit, but I've since learned to 'ride around it'. You can actually turn off the downshift behaviour completely, but for this you have to mount the shifter sensor slightly differently and turn off some settings through the Smartphone App.

@@AndyManCam nice vid and install!!! Do you know why it stopped working?
@AndyManCam5 жыл бұрын
After speaking with Healtech, it's possible that I've overtightened it and the sensor has cracked. So once the water got in it stopped, but then when it was dry again it started working again.

is this QS up/down..?
@AndyManCam4 жыл бұрын
It is, but there is no blipper. So the down shifting can be VERY lumpy!

Just so you know, You helped me install this a few days ago. I had a few questions regarding the sensor mounting, watched your video, saw it worked for you, and turns out it worked for me. I did have an issue with it not sensing pressure and ended up shifting a few gears pretty hard without an ignition cut. I played with the sensor pressure settings and ended up setting it to 70%. (it was at 60%). So far, it seems to work since the change, but curious if you've had an issue of yours quitting on you mid-ride?
@AndyManCam2 жыл бұрын
Very happy to help Sean! I’ve only ever had an issue after washing the bike, but it turns out I‘d overtightened the sensor and cracked the plastic so it was letting water in. Switched the sensor and all was great after that.
@SR-cp1eo2 жыл бұрын
@@AndyManCam Right on. I tightened the sensor till it didn't wiggle anymore, then did a quarter turn after. Seems to work fine. I think the issue is my foot placement. when I shift normally it's fine, but sometimes my foot placement is slightly off and it won't set off the sensor. I learned that foot placement matters haha! I did a few power shifts that were quite uncomfortable... So far works great! Just rider error. Thanks again!

Will it affect the gearbox in the long run?
@AndyManCam4 жыл бұрын
Impossible to say really. The shifts on the whole are very smooth and so I don't think it could have too much effect. Don't forget as well though, that any extra wear on the gearbox is saved by the reduced wear on the clutch and associated attachments!

As long as you're direct and firm, it's surprisingly good! If you tickle it, you can hit a neutral. But shift with intent and it goes in every time.

Good video. But i found the music throughout a bit distracting. Also you will make more money with a shorter amc intro section. I tend to skip long introductions which i believe could mean KZbin discount it as an extra view (due to parts being skipped)

Thanks. I'm not sure that 12 seconds is too long for an intro. Not by much anyway! I know what you're getting at though.
