Adjustable Wrench Restoration - Will It Work Again?

In this project I take a very old adjustable wrench that was found buried in my friends yard and restore it to working order. Several of these techniques can be used to restore your own tools.

Amigo en el espiral en la parte de abajo trae un perno, se lo hubieras quitado y se desmonta todo el mecanismo y podrias limpiarlo por dentro. Ya que asi quedo oxidado. Es un comentario para mejorar, Saludos.

Haha exactly. I really wasn’t for sure it was going to move it all, so when it did I was thrilled.

it's not fully restored, i think you had to disassemble the wrench totally, and take the file work to remove sharp edge and dints ,using bluing to prevent the rust, finally paint the good job but i think you have better than this, and the adjustable pice had to be polished and the hand had to be painted.

“Restored” means different things to different people. I never implied that it was “fully” restored, only restored to working order.

That was very well done! They definitely made tools better back then. I do not think many tools today could stand the test of time like this.

What’s your definition of a restoration there bud? I took a wrench that was buried in the dirt for years, completely locked up and unusable, and returned it to working order. Seems like a restoration to me, but I’m just a simple man.
