Adjusting Layouts For Different PAP -

Ever wonder why the layouts on the drill sheets may look different for you after they are drilled? Your Positive Axis Point (PAP) may be different than "the standard" PAP we use to base the drill sheets.
Remember, layouts are not about the relation to the fingers, it's about the relation to the PAP. As a crude example (like Mo said), a "pin over the bridge" will roll VERY different for 2 different bowlers with 2 different PAPs. Once you get past how a layout looks, you can start using layouts that actually work for you!

My PAP is very unique, much more than his. Mine is 1 1/2 inches right and 3/4 inch up

When it comes to the PSA on an asymmetrical ball, is the distance from the PSA to the VAL more important, the PSA from the PAP or a combination of both?

Both. PSA to the PAP will be dictated by the drilling angle. The distance to the VAL will create the total distance of the PAP migratory path, and when it crosses the pin to spin line. So the first one dictates where it 'starts' at release (relative to your pap) and the second dictates how far the PAP has to migrate to reach the pin to spin line. This is why bigger drill angles go longer, because it positions them further away from the PAP and the VAL, so the migration takes longer before reaching the Pin to Spin.
