If you want to use a torque wrench on the axle nut, make up a short bolt that fits the other end of the open ended spanner, screw nuts to it that fit a suitable socket on the torque wrench, Adjust the torque wrench setting by using arithmetic or use the calculator on the Norbar website. Easy.

A very good no nonsense demonstration. And you spoke the kind of English we understand in the western USA!

It's a hassle, isn't it?? Still have to do it. Thanks for watching and for the comment, Alan.

If you open the foot rest and wedge a large flat screwdriver into the allen bolt you can undo and re tighten the foot rest without the need to take it to pieces . This makes taking the silencers off really easy.

What year is your bike? I'm having a hard time picturing this suggestion. I wonder if they changed the way it's attached?

@@AmenMoto 2016 Just push the screwdriver in on an angle from the top to engage the blade of the driver with the Allen bolt then lever it slightly against the foot rest so pressure is applied to the bolt, this is enough to stop the bolt from turning when the nut is tightened or loosened.

Great tip, and timely. I just hit 1,000 miles on my 2020 T120 and notice a bit of play in The chain. I was dreading taking off the pea shooters! Oh and YES, more maintenance vids please. Love the channel

Hey Talon glad you liked it. Just be sure to tighten up that axle nut real good. Got more maintenance videos coming pretty soon! Thanks again for watching. :)

Took your advice with angle spanners, still a bit of a pain but much easier than removing silencers. Thankyou

Great video but I am a little concerned about tightening the axel nut without a torque wrench. How can I be sure that wheel is tight(torqued) enough. Seems like a very important issue and need to get it right.

Great video. It still seems like the adjustments are a bit of a pain with the silencers on. Honestly, the silencers are not hard to take off and put back on. And, if you know about the foot peg detent ball, just keep an eye out for it and set it aside in a dish. I think I'd rather remove the silencers to get full, unfettered access.

After doing it both ways a few times, I think I agree with you. Might as well just pull everything out of your way. Thanks for watching and the comment!

Awesome video. Actually you have a good point. But the nice channel guy navigated his way pretty damn good. But yes I think taking the silences off is a no brainer no matter how we look at it. NZ

I removed the passenger footpegs and stored them in my garage. No one rides pillion with me. Saves some time doing rear wheel maintenance. From San Diego, California.

I eventually did the same thing, Marek. Just had to remember where I put them when I sold the bike. :)

I think I'll just pull my silencers. That, or maybe get some shorty silencers.

Nice you found those wrench's to do that with .But don't they have ratchet type wrench like that? might work better. But cost more ! look at those side covers shine ! Good tip ! Ride on! p.s. I found out that cheep chain lube is not the way to go! Use a good lube that stays on your chain ! unless you like to clean up your bike every time you ride. Stay Safe and Well.

Ratcheting wrenches would definitely help man. Haven't seen those but maybe Doug has. The cheap stuff slops around huh? Thank you so much for watching the vid, man!

Ratcheting wrenches still have a 60 degree index. We tried them, did not work. Thanks for the tip on the chain lube. I have been kinda old school and been using PJ1 and let it dry 24 hours. Still flies off. I might try chain wax or Motul now has chain paste although I not tried it yet. Thanks for watching.
