In this vlog I discuss the process of adjusting my new evolving body as I go through gender transition. I discuss having to accept the loss of being able to go through a natural puberty and coming to terms with the limitations of transition.

Good day mate :-), I can see how the 12 step program is beneficial not just to sobriety but life in general. We as trans individuals have lots of idiosyncratic tendencies and we each view our bodies differently and need to affirm different changes or characteristics with others. You have a good head on your shoulders Finn and it's always a pleasant day when I get to hear what's on your mind or see how you are. Well pet enough of me prattling on. Hugs ttyl

Bless you! Such kind comments, thank you :) Yes the 12 step programme did so much more for me than just getting me sober, its given me a whole new way to live life and be able to accept and be content through the inevitable ups and downs that life brings. I truly am very grateful to be an alcoholic in recovery. I really value community in supporting change and growth, the trans community is such a blessing and a place to find much needed support and validation, I am truly grateful for that too, wouldnt be where I am today without it and it makes the journey so much easier when others further along are able to help guide others.

I always remember people who have disabilities that cause scaring when I'm worrying about what my reconstruction will look like. Because what we have is, I think, a bit like a disability that requires surgery to help put right, so we're in a similar boat. Other people's scars show a bit, and so will ours. People with other reconstructions, like lip for example, are still a little noticeable after surgery but no-one minds. It's okay. The same goes for our chests and nipples. They may not be exactly as we'd like but they're pretty damn good... and yours is one of the best. Enjoy!! :-D

Absolutely true Robin, I think after years of my body being wrong, I just desperately want it to be right. Lately Im realising that what Im going through is a normilisation of my body, that it doesnt have to be perfect or flawless, it just has to be good enough for me to embrace and accept and that actually, that makes it more real and more mine. Cheers my friend!

I really needed this today thank you. I had top surgery about 6 weeks ago. Recovery is going beautifully and I am feeling much better in my body because of this. However over the last week or so I get random times late at night in bed or in the morning when I look in the mirror and still feel female. Does this make any sense? It is a little unnerving to me as my body is now more masculine than it ever has been before and yet I still get the dysphoria in a similar way. Anyway just needed to share, thanks for the video and community.

That does make total sense, I have had the same experience myself, a fair few times. A friend of mine said its likely that due to how many years weve been feeling dysphoric, its hard for the brain to shake it and it will take time. There is so much adjustment needed, mentally physically and emotionally. I was happy as larry after surgery but it still took me a while to see my chest as male. It does get better and better and easier with every passing day. So glad you are healing well my friend!

FinnTheInfinncible Here in the states, we have a saying that is similar. We say "He's not the sharpest tool in the shed." I like your version and will have to remember that one. ;)
