FINALLY someone who explains the CORRECT way to adjust the water level. This is literally the first website / video that explained the ring on the bottom of the cylinder. All the others are just like "turn the screw" or "turn the shaft", as though 99% of us didn't try that first. THIS video fixed my low water level issue. THANK YOU.

THANK YOU! Other videos told me to twist the fill valve to adjust the height WITHOUT first telling me to move the plastic ring up! I was gripping and twisting the fill valve as hard as I could until I heard a scary grinding sound and probably almost broke my toilet. But once I popped up the plastic ring, boom don't even need to twist the fill valve, just move it up or down. Again thank you so much!

I thought moving up the ring might introduce some kind of problem to the system because the instructions for installation told me not to move it. However, there is nothing to worry about and it worked just like in the video. You don't need to remove the valve cap on the top, disconnect the hose and rotate the whole fill valve.

I know this video is 5 years old, but I have the Fluidmaster fill valve too and after I popped the white plastic piece up (that was difficult enough in itself), I couldn't move the gray piece up and down at all no matter how hard I pulled. Tried turning it and twisting but no luck. Ended up putting it back together and the water line was still low. If anyone else has this issue and figured it out, let me know please!

Ugh, I don’t get it. I’ve tried everything. At first, it wasn’t filling, so I opened said thing and cleaned it out from debris. Then, problem was fixed so then later today, toilet seemed to be running, constantly. I checked and sure enough, it was overfilling. You’re the first to mention that valve, but it’s still overfilling. I think I spent about 2 hours and to no avail, I shut the water down. Maybe I’ll get it tomorrow.
@chrisklest12387 ай бұрын
My toilet tank only sometimes automatically refills after flushing and sometimes it doesn't. The float will be at the bottom and I have to tap the water level adjustment screw down to get the water to flow in. It's hard to troubleshoot because it does not happen every time and if I try to adjust things, the water will begin flowing in.
@botwitaprice4 жыл бұрын
Must be a common occurrence; my floater is a little different; adjustment for mine is just below the arm that pivots the water on/or off. the step connecting the arm can be twisted loose to screw floater up or down, reconnect stem to arm and walla!
@aricfowler62276 ай бұрын
I just replaced my fill valve with the one shown in this video. My issue is, the arm holding screw, occasionally locks up or down. So, in the middle of the night, you may go to flush the toilet the toilet never filled back up again. I can press down on the arm, which activates it to fill, then have to stop it manually. Once it is set, it works for 7-8 flushes. Then doesn't fill again. Is there a fix for that?

I tried that and it didn't work. But since I couldn't see what he did to loosen that ring at the bottom or how to tighten it again, I'm probably going to take the whole thing out and replace it. This is a rental house, so who knows how long it's been since it was installed. And since the flapper isn't looking too good either, I guess I'll replace it at the same time. My maintenance people refused to fix it for me, and while I have replaced a flapper before, but this will be my first time at replacing the float and fill valve.

The new valve we purchased looks pretty similar to this, but this adjustment at the base doesn't exist as far as I can see. The ring is there that can be lifted, but the adjustment at the base doesn't exist at least as far as I can tell.

hi, did you ever figure this out? i kept pulling and turning cuz some videos said you turn the gray piece to make it go up whereas this video you just pull it up and it clicks at each stop, but no amount of pulling and turning worked for mine.

Question,,,, the small fill valve tube, the black one... how far down Into the bowel fill tube should it go? Should I hear it “dripping.” Every 5 to 10 minutes, my toilet seems to be filling. Does it for about 10 to 15 secs. I’ve replaced the flapper numerous time. Thanks.
@phan2820022 жыл бұрын
did you ever solve this issue? i just replaced my fill valve before my toilet no longer flushed, and now my toilet won't stop refilling every few mins. i tried changing out the flapper to see if that was the problem, but no luck.
@Skyholder0012 жыл бұрын
@@phan282002 HAHA.... the toilet challenge!!! Did I solve it... permanently? No. It seems to be okay for a few days, then repeats the problem. I've changed the flapper periodically. 2022 will be the year of the "flapper."
