Excellent video , very high standard of quality of information by apparently a non-lawyer that beats many lawyer's descriptions due to its step by step simple approach. Many applicants are legal visitors to the USA and not on a fiancee K1 visa. Lots of other items could be added to this check list but for people who do it themselves, this is the best I've seen. Every immigration lawyer I've called wants a very large amount to retain them. God knows what it would cost if they were involved all the way to the issue of a green card and citizenship.

It is covered with the whole packet. I-765 and I-131 are free when you file them with your Adjustment of status. Make sure you check the uscis website to see they haven't changed the fee.

@@alko6565 indeed you can. Unfortunately, after reading all instructions and pages from the USCIS, there’s still a gray area whether you apply for concurrent filing or not. I would strongly recommend to speak to an attorney about this and see if they can clear it out for you. Make one mistake and your case could be thrown into the trash.

@@topaciot i spoke with an attorney, this was so tricky i had to actually spend money :( you can file I-130 online (which I did) and it will automatically give you that same day or the very next day a receipt notice that you can print and add it in the whole package, that is what i did. as long as you add that receipt notice, there is no problem. Hi, from what I've known only I-485, I-765 and I-131 can be filed together. You can call USCIS customer service though. They will be able to answer your question. We have called them so many times and they have been very helpful.

Yes. Go the uscis website and then download their instruction pdf.

If you properly file Form I-485 and pay the required fees, you may file Form I-765 and Form I-131 without paying additional fees. You may file these forms together, or if you choose to file Form I-765 or Form I-131 separately, you must also submit a copy of your I-797C, Notice of Action, receipt as evidence that you filed and paid for Form I-485.

Hi Lorelyn, this is what I've read from uscis website: "Visit CBP’s website at i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/home to access your electronic Form I-94. If you cannot get your Form I-94 from the CBP website, you may file Form I-102, Application for Replacement/Initial Nonimmigrant Arrival-Departure Record, with USCIS. See our website at uscis.gov/I-102 for more information."

Hi, USCIS just made an additional form to AOS application starting Feb. 24, 2020. So yes, you have to submit I-944 Declaration of Self-Sufficiency together with your AOS application.

@Danny Unchained No, you would need it. The USCIS wants to make sure an alien will not likely to receive any financial assistance from the government. So, if you think that you don't have enough money to support yourself just make sure your petitioner or joint sponsor has a lot of money. There are exempted people like the refugees and asylee. Go to uscis website to see if you qualify for the exempted people. This is brand new to us, Uscis just made this law on February 24, 2020. It seems like the government is getting really strict about who they are going to grant their greencard. We will continue to research this. They have an instruction form about i-944, you can see the list of exempted people in their instruction page.

@Danny Unchained That's fine, but you still need to submit I-944 because the uscis are the ones to determine if you will be a public charge or not. I know a lot of people who are also filing AOS with this new requirement and they are still waiting for an update from the uscis since this is new to everybody.

You can still use whatever the USCIS has in their website. Just make sure to check their website again to see if they have updated their form before sending in your application. If they have changed it, use the latest version that they have.

Hello. I am sending a joint sponsor for my husband the joint sponsor is retired and receiving ss and weekly checks from worker compensation claim since a year ago. Do you believe USCIS will take into consideration the workers compensation income eve though it doesn’t say they are permanently? You can file I-485 at any point in your immigration as long as you already applied for I-130.

I'm in the same exact position. I think you have to fill it. When you fill out the 944 self-sufficiency and household income is lower than poverty line you should file it. US citizen spouse fills the affidavit to sponsor you but then you have another copy so a friend or relative fills out as well as a joint sponsor

The wedding photos/pictures, they can just be printed out on an A4 or Letter size right? They dont have to be like those ones you get from CVS which are like 1/4 size?

It is all up to you. If you think you are not traveling at all outside the US while waiting for your 2 year green card then you don’t need to do it. However, if you decide to go on a vacation somewhere (out of the country like Canada or Mexico) it might be helpful to have it. It is free to file, if you file it with the Adjustment of Status.

Hi if you are F1 student studying in the USa you cannot become a permanent resident of the Usa, called adjustment of status instead you can change your non immigrant b2 Visa to another non immigrant F1 visa ,by just applying from within ,just make sure you don't apply in one a month of arriving in the usa as it will look planned (not good) and apply 90-60 before your stay on your I-i94 expires given at the port of entry on your b2 Visa.

Select: Not required for a tax return. Explanation: I am a new immigrant and have not worked yet. This is what I've seen that others are doing. We made this video right before USCIS made this new form, this is also new to us, but we will try to help research for everyone as much as we can. I hope this helps!

No. Those who are exempted are only those who are above poverty guidelines in their income. Please check the uscis poverty guidelines in their website. Every state has different poverty guidelines.

No, not the same as far as I know. Go to the USCIS website to check what jurisdiction your state is in. I have heard that uscis tried to receive all the applications in one place but I am not 100% sure with that yet, so you might need to check their website.

Yes and no.You need to be in the US at least 90 days before getting married starting on the day you last entered the country. Example: if you come back from your home country on Nov. 20 start counting 90 days from Nov 20 to be able to get married and get your application in after. Traveling shouldn't affect it though I think.

Y M, you should apply for Advance Parole so you can come back to the US without filing any Visa. Don't get out of the country without it they will not let you go back in the US even if you are married to a permanent resident.

Yes, you don't have to file ead and ap with it. It is optional. You can just file it by itself.

Hi Devi, I don't think you can apply for green card under Tourist Visa. However, If you got married to a US citizen, then yes you can apply for green card using this form! Let me know if you have other questions we will be happy to help you!

"Are you exempt from the public charge ground of inadmissibility" ..do I have to answer yes or no? I’m so confused 🤯 am I exempt or not? My husband can easily provide for both of us. I’m just not sure what to answer.

If you had to fill out the i944 form then it means you are NOT exempt from the public charge ground. Exempt people, like refugees, would not be considered for this extra scrutiny and don't file form i944. The instructions of i944 provide more insight on who is exempt.
