The new i-864 form that expires 12-31-23, does not have interactive form fields like previous editions. This was purposefully done by Homeland Security so that people would have a harder time filling it out, hoping it would cause some people to make mistakes, which in-turn, lets them deny more cases. This was a small retaliatory action from Homeland Security since they are understaffed (due to the pandemic), which contributed to them getting sued for being too slow with cases.

What if your tax returns are of money you made while living abroad? I am self emplyoed and make above the 125%. I have 3 tax returns of income made abroad and one year of income made in the US (2020). I am a Personal Trainer and most of my income is checks or cash.

Hello , thanks for the video , I had a few questions , 1-After you filling out the PDF form on you computer , can you also sign it using the track pad or stylus in case of touch screen devices ? or do I need to complete the form on computer and then print it out , sign by hand and mail in (USPS) ? 2- can you submit a I-864 form online .from what I can see in ceac.state.gov/ site there is a section for upload document ,which is confusing ! Wait, on Part 6 #7 under current annual income....my 2019 Tax Return transcript isn't available yet until the end of the year and my wife and I are filing before Nov 24th...so I can't say how much I earned in 2019 if it's not the end of 2019 yet..... so do I just put how much I earned in 2018 again or can I provide my pay stubs from Jan 2019 to now as proof that I've earned above the poverty guideline??

14:14 Part 5. sponsor’s household size. Actually if I mark 1 for questions 1,2, and 3, my household size on Q8 is “2” which is correct for me and my spouse. In the video you tell us we should not add a “1” on Q 3 because it would reflect a household size of “3” and increase the amount of money to meet poverty line. Am I correct or what should I do? It contradicts the video and the video is showing my exact same case: husband and wife.

Thanks for making and sharing this videos, I have a question about the affidavit of support, I'm a LPR and I did a petition for my wife and daughter and it was approved, the thing is that i just lived in USA for 8 Month and then move back to Bogota Colombia with my wife and daughter, so my 2018 Income tax return was really low, and here in Colombia the Salary isn't enough for support, My wife (the Principal Immigrant) have a saving account for many years in The US, can we used that saving account information as assets for the affidavit of support? Thanks a million for this video. Although its from June /2019 I got plenty info to help me with my form. The lady was very detailed however on some critical points input was not provided to make it very clear. To be specific on the page 4 - part 6, line 7 current income, I was assuming for the amount it should be entering the gross income stated in your tax return of last year, but it is not. She takes the current year salary 47K and that is very different from the 83k from John's taxes prior year. Very concern with my case because due to COvid 19 I Iost my job in the middle of July /20 and I I am receiving unemployment help. Anyways, it was very informative and you deserve a LIKE and of course my subscription to your channel.

Hi I have a question for the I-864. My parents are married and sponsoring my husband because i just started working and don’t meet the financial requirements. Anyways... They file taxes jointly so my dad is filing I-864 and my mom is doing I-864A. On the form I-864 it asks if they are the only joint sponsor. Or the first of two joint sponsors or the second of two joint sponsors. Which box would I fill out and which one would my dad fill out ? it was a nice explanation overall however have a question related to the part 5 starts at 11:43 of the video. if a lady has born in Venezuela and then she became a US citizen through a marriage to a US man. Which country name and address she will has to put in the part 5, if she wanna sponsor a family member.

You did not explain for part 5 # 6-7. And my question on that is . If the petitioner has previously filed n obtained green card for the mom but the mom doesn’t live with us. So we still add her on the form as part of the household.

Hi so I am petitioning both my parents and is required to do 2 separate i-864. And so I know that I understand it correctly, on part 2 I am only suppose to write 1 parent and so on part 3 4A Family Member 1 I do not have to write the other parent since I am doing a separate i-864 form. Did I get that correctly?

I filled out two separate I-130 for my parents. My mom's approval has came and I am sponsoring her right now. Should I fill out I-864EZ? Should I write my dad's name on part 3? One more question about the form, The signature should be by hand ? It means that we should first fill out the form on a computer, then print it out and sign it by hand with a black ink, then scan the form? For immigrant mailing address we should write our own address in the U.S not their current address?

Quick Question, if the joint sponsor is a US citizen but not a family member then what should we put in the 'reltationship' box? also as they do not live in our household ill only have to include the joint sponsor and immigrant and not the primary sponsor in the house hold and vise versa.

Hi Jacob. Very useful info, thank you. Question. I filed two I-130 petitions for My parents (one for each parent). My understanding is that I have to file two separate I-864 for them. I'm having a hard time understanding how much income is enough. For example, I put my income as $36k on each petition. Say the minimum to qualify should be 22k. Does it mean that my actual income should be at least 44k to sponsor both of my parents. I hope it makes sense. Please advise, thank you.

I am making a petition for my 4 older children, they have all been approved and now I am in the process of completing the 4 affidavits, beginning with the first child whose case is open at the Website from the NVC / Dept of State: My sole income should be enough only for him(over 125 % FPGL, though for the other 3 is not so, I will need a joint sponsor for the other 3- as each affidavit is filed separately for each- am I correct on that?-Or do I need to have a joint sponsor for all at once? Also, do I need to list them on part 3, even if I have not yet filed the affidavits for them?
