walking for me isn't the problem, it's staying on the tracks even if you don't find a buck that day. These videos are edited !! LOL I would say these guys really know the mountains they hunt. I wish I could scout the mountains I hunt BEFORE the season starts. He didn't mention trial cameras. Considering the quality of the buck and antlers, I would say the genetics are very good.

Seems like you'd just quarter and bone em out and pack the meat and head out. That's what we do with elk that might be 2-8 miles in and 1-3000 feet of elevation up or down. Might have to hike out and grab the pack if you can't hunt with one well in that thick stuff tho, I get that.

I think it’s a primos can call. I’ve heard that you can use it as a mouth call by blowing into the hole you normally cover with your thumb. I’ve never tried it that way.

Persistence pays off. But I do see something I wouldn't do where I deer hunt, Most of the state of PA has antler restrictions. Don't know what the laws are where you hunt. Where I hunt the antler are three tines on one side. When he shot, and the camera was right behind him, I couldn't see the rack size, and if I couldn't see it I doubt the shooter could. He wasn't carrying binoculars.

Rutting bucks have things called tarsal glands on the inside of their legs at the knee joint. They urinate on them while they lay down scrapes ( form of communication with other deer) They smell so strongly you can actually smell the buck even though he's passed by long before.

Why do Ag state guys and a lot of the other guys that have it too easy look you in the eye and say bucks dont blow ? 🤦🏻‍♂️. I plan on asking a few of them but first I'm trying to figure out where the "thick cover" is that they keep mentioning too. Come hunt upstate NY boys, see what it means to HUNT.
