Yes, great sportsmanship just wildly shooting at the buck because it was a “big one” with a freaking inline! You never take a marginal shot and you could tell by how he justified that, that is exactly what he took. That’s not what hunting is supposed to be. Not where I am from.
@garyknepper45463 жыл бұрын
@@Sparxeb with the country he’s hunting and the fresh snow I would not criticize him for taking what you call a marginal shot. Even if it would have been a marginal hit he had every opportunity to recover the buck. That’s the bottom line. This type of hunt doesn’t allow for standing broadside shots out in the open.

You can tell he cares about the animal. He took the second shot to put him down. I had to do the same on my first deer this year. He was suffering. I nicked the top of his heart on the first shot.

The best hunting video I've ever watched, and I'm 54
@garyknepper45463 жыл бұрын
Had to watch this again. My all time favorite video on You Tube. This would be my favorite way to hunt. I’ve done a little bit of tracking but here in the mid Atlantic states you either push the deer to another hunter or you push it to posted land. What little luck I’ve had tracking came on super windy days with tree tops slapping together and fresh overnight snow. You gotta be ready as when you jump them out of their bed you have to shoot quick. Thanks for sharing this hunt and thanks for no whooping, hollering and fist pumping. Also thanks for no background music.Good job.

Nothing like sharing a leftover meatloaf, used for a sandwiches, with a friend while hunting. There's just something about tradition that I really love about hunting, bring in a sandwich or two with you, sitting down with a buddy and sharing a sandwich, bag of chips and Good Times. These good times are trapped in memory forever, and now they're here on KZbin in the metaverse for all of us to enjoy, thanks to you. With love from Vermont

Nice job sir, we have a camp on ironbound near Canada falls, on the bald mountain side, until work got too busy, and I blew three discs in my back, I used to love heading up there on fresh snow, I do have to manage one more to show my son how to do it, then the tradition will not die in my family, thank God he has long legs and in incredible shape, I’m short and stocky, not a good build for when the snow gets over a foot, get tired quick, but I have managed to run a few of them down up there, not nearly that size, you are truly a master at your craft sir, love your humility, that looks like at least 225 dressed, but guessing it could go more, your videos are awesome

Out‘freakin’standing! Way to go Hal! That’s an amazing hunt.. great cinematography, a great story line, the highs, lows, misses, recovery, etc; a very well done representation of hunting the big woods. I like how the buck was still alive as you were walking up to him before you put the final shot in him. Shows the reality of hunting and real time footage versus the highly staged stuff in today’s hunting videos. I know some stuff has to be staged for videography sake and I have no problem with that. It’s just so overdone in most production videos today. This was not that case. Throughly enjoyed your hunt. Enjoy some great memories and delicious deer steaks this year Mr. Blood.
