No government has had the bottle to hold a proper, grown up debate on the funding of the nhs and until it does so the nhs will continue to suffer from being a political football. That being the case, here are a few suggestions. Continue funding 1st class research into illnesses such as heart disease, cancers and so on. This is something the NHS is very good at and we have a great deal of talent in this sphere. If the Nhs is serious about helping people to lose weight then it must also be prepared to do surgery where there is a lot of flesh that cannot be returned to its original tautness prior to weight gain. If the NHS cannot do this on the grounds that a surfeit of flesh is not life threatening then it must also cease sex change operations, as thinking you'd like to bethe opposite gender is merely a matter of perception, therefore a mental health issue that should be treated in that manner. The sam goes for IVF. It's a racket and rarely works, so get a dog instead.
