@@ramom2772 I am not an RN, nor have I worked in the healthcare field, but I have friends who are RNs. ASN-to-BSN programs are usually 2 years and it can all be done entirely online. ASN-to-BSN programs, from what I have been told, are all theory classes and is not as difficult as obtain an ASN since most of the important aspect of being a nurse have been covered in the ASN degree, especially the clinical portion.

I'm in an accelerated ASN/LVN program offered through a University. We also need to do Volunteer hours. And all of those requirements of science are built in to the School Because we get an Associate's degree and An LVN certificate upon graduation It's a 17 month Course. But it's easier to bridge into an ADN /BSN program without any trouble. That's the route I chose to take But overall it's a great field so however U get it done. Just get it done ...

Great video you two. Was wondering if you guys can give some advice on my situation.. I have a bachelors in exercise science. Graduated with a 2.92 gpa. Want to go the absn route but I doubt I can get in with this low gpa. And I keep hearing mixed thoughts about adn and the job outlook and how most places want a bsn>adn. So just afraid that if I am forced to go the adn route (don’t get accepted into absn) I will struggle with finding a job. I live in philly btw.
@aomysirapa4 жыл бұрын
I started with an ADN. I worked in a clinic and a tiny hospital. They were fine with it as long as I passed my NCLEX. But, I live in CA so I can’t say about Philly. But.. most magnet status hospitals will only hire BSN or BSN in progress. I would suggest doing some research around your area. As far as your GPA, most ADN programs minimum is 2.5 GPA so you need to ace all those nursing pre requisite classes and do well on your TEAS exam. Even an ADN program was very competitive for me and I had to retake anatomy to have my GPA be at least a 3.4
@King-et8vi4 жыл бұрын
I feel you man I’m in the same exact situation, finishing my exercise science degree in spring 21 with a sub 3.0 gpa but I plan on still applying to an accelerated BSN program. If that doesn’t work the ADN is the fall back.

I’m in the same boat and decided to go with the BSN because sometimes ADN programs have waiting lists and the fact that you a probability instead of just going
@Moviepisode2 жыл бұрын
I am in the same sitiuation but decided to go for my ADN because it is cheaper and while on waitlist, I take the courses that I will need for BSN. ABSN is more intense, expensive and you will not be able to work at all but with ADN, at least, you have breaks and I will say, another difference is that, ADN is longer but few months apart from ABSN, to complete. This pandemic has made employers know that, ADN is also needed badly. But do your research and do what is suitable. All the best!
