The Air 20 from A Dece Oasis, or ADO, is a highly practical lightweight folding e-bike for city riders and commuters. We tested its performance, ride feel, and more in our ADO Air 20 review!
Where many other folding e-bikes we’ve tested have weighed 60-70 lbs, the Air 20 weighs just 42. With a quick-release folding mechanism and such a lightweight frame, it’s easy to carry, fold, and transport.
The Air 20 uses a 350W rear hub motor with a torque sensor, giving riders responsive but subtle pedal assistance that mimics the feel of an analog bike. We thoroughly enjoyed the resulting zippy and fun feel!
Thanks to its single-speed drivetrain with a belt, and its three PAS settings, the ADO Air 20 is incredibly simple to operate! No shifting is required, and the belt drive keeps things clean and quiet.

For such a detailed review, I'm surpriesed there was no mention of fit. You should add a 5'-2" person, and a 6'-4" person riding the bike. To show if/how it fits short and tall riders...

Word is this bike is easily rollable when in folded state, unlike most folders where the wheels don’t align or point the same direction. Was hoping you’d demonstrate this capability and whether it works well if walking short distances (e.g. on a commuter platform or through an office building), or perhaps wheels don’t stay aligned and directionality becomes squirrelly?

This is a great suggestion and we'll keep that in mind for future reviews! It did come together better than most. The optional magnet helps with that and you can cover short distances.

Does the international version ship with the throttle lever already attached or do you have to buy it seperately, as an accessory. Also, is there any indication on the motor that it is 250 watts or 350 watts for a policeman to check out. As well as this how does the walk assist mode work, is it with the throttle and can you omit the higher speed throttle use on the app, when you want and only have the 4 mph walk assist mode working on it's own, again to avoid police attention in Europe and UK ?

Definitely! There's actually a quick-release clamp at the top of the telescoping stem that would make that process a bit easier.

Website says not to take the battery out because it’s basically part of the strength of the frame. That makes me think it’s prone to flexing and if it cracks the battery that’s just no good.

You can buy a 2nd hand Brompton electric bike for approximately the same price, and have all rounder, great on hills, and longer distance commutes

In the UK, or anywhere with 'weather' (i.e. rain), mudguards (fenders) are a must. And if using e.g. for local shopping (who doesn't?), it really needs a rack. Why don't 'testers' include these, very, 'basic's'?

The mudguards included with this bike are not great. The rear one is not even close to stopping spray landing on the nack of your bum. If you want a proper coverage you have to purchase the seperate mudguard pack that will set you back about £80! Massive oversight ADO!

For such an expensive price why didn't I go for the Fiido X which has a magnesium alloy frame and has a password to prevent theft, and what are the advantages of the ado air 20?🤨

Belt drive is the main one for me at least. Also, having a magnesium frame doesn’t mean much when it’s still heavier than the aluminum bike

From what I understand the battery and motor on the fiido x is much better than the ado air 20 and will naturally weigh more. If the fiido also used aluminum then the whole bike would probably weigh even more, so a magnesium frame still makes sense.@@super.brunch

Thanks for the review. Not going 28 mph+ kills it for me. For city/suburban riding, you really need the speed to be safe keeping up with traffic or be quick enough to get out of the way of traffic on those long stretches of single lane roads with no breakdown lane to speak of (there are a lot more of those than people think).

Thanks for watching! That's fair to point out. A lot of people need an e-bike to keep up with traffic. Sometimes the smaller folders are better for shorter, sprints between a bus stop and the last mile or two to the office though. Different tools for different needs.

More like it's a bit more niche in use case. It won't have the same broad appeal, and we're trying to help explain those tradeoffs, but for what it is, it's a nifty bike. There aren't a ton of super light / portable folding e-bikes you can get your hands on in the US market despite their immense popularity in Europe. So it's refreshing to see some variety with the Air 20.
