If you are using Adobe After Effects and trying to preview or render your video project and keep getting an error message that says, "invalid image buffer size" and prevents you from rendering or finalizing your project, here's a quick and easy solution on how to fix this problem.
You simply need to find out which clip is causing the error message to pop up. Then open the composition and see all the layers/effects. Simply click the "eye" to make it disappear from the preview and try and watch the preview again. If the error message persists, that means that layer/effect wasn't the problem. Keep doing it until you find the error message is gone and video plays without problems. Then you have isolated which layer/effect was the problem.

Sadly, sometimes AE can't handle its own effects. This problem is always caused by an effect, and the only way to fix it is by removing it or replacing it with something else.

Man, just create a Camera and it's gone. Just figured it out. I think the issue is if you try to render without a camera AE trying to render all the stuff going on the screen without any borders. BUT when you add the Camera, it creates a border with size of your composition and rendering only that region. That helped me.

I found a fix the same issue to do with text or image scaling. If your text or image is animated in 2D using scaling keyframes, it has a border of 30000 pixels. To fix this, just reanimate by putting it in 3D and using ‘z’ movements for position.

"Unable to create image buffer" What does that mean, and how do I fix it I've been working on this 12minute video for a week and that starting popping up while editing. I'm editing offline. Do I need to go online? then I can't see none of the images on the timeline, but I can hear them. What is going on? Is there a video to fix this problem, and why does it happen. This is a pretty tough issue to solve as Adobe doesn't even have a solution. The best thing to do is try a bunch of different options others have tried to see if it could be related to yours: try to reset your paging file in Windows. Another idea is to try cleaning your memory/cache or use a software like "MemReduct" and use it everytime your RAM percentage is high around 90%. If your PC is not powerful enough for your native camera media, try transcoding media to ProRes LT, make sure you have enough memory on your hard drive for virtual memory or adjust your virtual memory (windows 10, search "how to change virtual memory size and look for the Microsoft page), or try: File>Project Setting>General and change GPU Acceleration to Software only in video rendering and playback. These are just some ideas to try! Good luck!

what if it happens with a layer imported from illustrator? in other words: something you can't disable or sustitute, cause is the object itself to work with

Sorry it didn't help you. To remove individual text and effects, it is right on your timeline and find the folder "main" or something similar to that. That is where you can see the layers of all the effects and texts and choose which ones you want to remove.

Yes, that is a very possible situation. Unfortunately I have no solution for it. The only thing I suggest is since you will know exactly what layer/effect is causing the issue, you can try and investigate further into that effect/layer and tinker around with some numbers (settings) to see if it might lower the buffer size limit and make it workable.

@@breakaway2x actually I found out it was because my payment declined I didn't know it was time so I just reactivated it and then closed it and then it worked LOL
