You don't need Captivate to view the finished published project. Your students can view them through a web browser. Zirius Tann I would base this on the target device. If your users are on computer than whatever resolution will fit on their screens. If you add these simulations to an existing project, ensure your current eLearning project has the exact resolution. For example, if I captured my monitor at full screen (1920 x 1080), I would make my project that same size. Quick question: is there a way to adjust the volume of the keystroke sounds? My viewers would like the mouse click to be less loud, and they find the typing sound overwhelmingly distracting. (I like having the audio cue that there's an action occurring, but must agree that they're loud.)

Hi Paul! First of all, thanks a lot for your sharings! I have a doubt, Can I open and edit a Captivate 8 software simulation in Captivate 2019?
@CaptivateTeacher6 жыл бұрын
In theory yes, however the more versions between the originally created project file and the current version the greater the greater chance their might be a problem. Key thing is to make sure you save a backup copy before loading and saving it in a newer version. If you save with the new version you will no longer be able to open in the earlier version of Captivate.

🎄Hello. Thank you for the tutorials you post, they are VERY helpful. I create tutorials for EMR training at a hospital. During practice simulations (ungraded), how can I set up a slide so that if a learner clicks the wrong area they receive a "try again" message, but after a 3rd failed attempt they receive message pointing to exactly where they need to click. Harry Rose I did a course last year that was exactly this. What I did was record software simulations for each topic that need to be covered. I cut and pasted all the topics into one. Hi Paul. Using captivate 11.5.5...trying to duplicate your steps doing software simulation but even after I do the same exact steps you outline here (using 2 monitors to make sure I do what you do exactly), it doesnt work for me the same way; when I tell it recording type automatic, and I choose to create demo/assessment/training simultaneously...when I review the recording (a) the mouse doesnt seem to be getting recorded; (2) the assessment and training also have no mice (I never hear the click sound for capturing either) and have no additional text boxes, instructions etc as you show...the only way I can get close to what you show is doing it in 'manual mode'...keyb shortcut keys every time I want to make a capture (print screen). This defeats the purpose for me bc when using 'manual' mode it creates only 1 file...the whole reason for me to use the simulation (instead of just doing a demo with camtasia) is to be able to create the different types SIMULTANEOUSLY...but I cant get it to work like you demo. Very few resources out there to assist (docs, videos) etc. At this point I have my doubts that this actually works bc I cannot reproduce as you show...any suggestions?

Do you mean a mouse over in a responsive project? If so there is no such thing in a responsive project. While responsive design can be viewed on desktop computers, it's primarily designed to address the need for mobile learning on smartphones and tablets. There is no mouse in those environments so mouse over isn't part of that design.
