This presentation is a few years old but still very up-to-date and useful. Robert's presentations and teachings are always no-nonsense. You can learn a lot from the creative perspective. Thank you Robert and B&H for making this available and for your generosity. Wishing you all the best!

Not only was this informative and full of tips, it was the best edited video I have seen for B&H Event Space thus far. This was the only video where I didn't say to myself, "I wish I could see what he was doing on the computer as he talks about the options he is choosing." Well done!

This is my 3rd time through this Band H workshop and I am getting more and more out of it. After 3 years of photography this man has cleared up Lightroom 5 for me as I have struggled with it for some time. Thank you Robert! and Band H

FANTASTIC video! I learned an INCREDIBLE amount from it. I couldn't count the number of times I said "WOW" and/or paused the video and immediately jumped into LR to try one of the techniques. Thank you so much!

Excellent tutorial, well presented and now on my favourites list. B & Q lectures are a fantastic resource, and I wish we had the equivalent of their New York store here in London.

dropping points using the picker is a great tip I didn't think of before... 59th min

When I try and use the points for the tonal curve they don't stay showing on the curve as it did in your video (I think you have 5 points showing). Is there a setting I need to adjust to have this happen? I tried a google search but couldn't turn up anything helpful. Thanks
@BandH10 жыл бұрын
On the Point Curve tool, you have 2 options to set points: on the point curve or with the target adjustment tool. On the target adjustment tool, click on the area in the image that you do not want to adjust. This will show up on the point curve and lock this area down and not be affected. Once you have established a couple of these points on the point curve, you can make a point between the 2 on the point curve, and by clicking and dragging on this point, you can make tonal adjustments by moving it up or down to increase or decrease the midtowns between these 2 points. I am unable to see the thumbnail image of Raw file in my PC explorer? So i am unable to check it which image is that unless i open LR and see them through LR.Is there any other way without opening LR?
@BandH9 жыл бұрын
+Ajit Sunder If your computer does not natively support the RAW files of your camera you would have to open them in some kind of program, be it Lightroom or another. Often cameras will come with basic software, or the software is provided by the manufacturer online that will allow you to view RAW files. Aside from this you could update the operating system to a more recent version, as the current versions generally allow you to view RAW files. I would suggest sending us an email to askbh@bhphoto.com and let us know the camera you are working with and current operating system you are using. We’d be happy to see if any alternative measures can be taken. *Andrea

Unfortunately, we had a mic issue on a few of these videos which has since been resolved, but unfortunately it's not possible to improve the existing videos beyond what we've done. Thanks for understanding.

Highly recommended although not introductory level. LR is intuitive enough to be useful right away. But this tutorial opened my eyes to many features not discoverable by experimentation. Mac-centric however. So use the alt key where he refers to whatever Apple calls their control key. I would stop the tutorial and try duplicating what he did on my copy of LR.
