Thank you! Unfortunately I have never exported files for theatre before so your best bet might be to contact the theatres and enquiry about what format / resolution / codec they want the files to be in - you should be able to then select those options in the options for your custom preset :)

Do you have any idea how to get youtube to keep a good quality of your video after they re encode it? I'm using a GoPro hero 7 and after KZbin gets a hold of my videos they are ruined quality wise. pixilated etc.
@SurfacedStudio5 жыл бұрын
That depends on so many things it's hard to say. I export everything in H264 codec, usually around 30 Mbps and that holds up OK. Do note that the quality improves over time due to caching and the file being send across the world depending on number of views, etc

Good day Tobias, I really think you should put a tutorial together, explaining how to use the search option within KZbin.
@SurfacedStudio8 жыл бұрын
+whip-it studio ... I don't think that's really worth a tutorial. It's literally: 1. type text 2. press enter 3. see results
@whipitstudio8 жыл бұрын
+Surfaced Studio thats what I thought but week after week I read posts asking you to make a tutorial that you already spent 20 plus hours creating and uploading for free. Apparently "There is a video for that " and " We already did that sh$t" hasnt helped either channel so I can only conclude that the search option is much more complex than compositing/ filmaking. A search tutorial would demistify this sly search option and will open the door for many.
@SurfacedStudio8 жыл бұрын
I do appreciate the feedback :) However, I don't think it's a problem with the complexity or me pointing people to it - most people simply don't use it and no amount of content I'd make on the issue is likely going to change that XD

@SurfacedStudio7 жыл бұрын
Are you talking about Encore or Media Encoder? Encoding speed will depend both on your computer as well as the codec / quality you decided to encode your video in and the source file / size. There is no option to 'make it fast' other than changing your settings to something that is less taxing on your computer :)

You have the best tutorials I've ever seen. You are an excellent teacher. One question please, if I use KZbin 1080p preset is there a way to have it encode for KZbin but not post it? I screen record games for my KZbin channel with bandicam. Bandicam files are massive so I use an app called Handbrake first to code and compress the video before I edit it Adobe Premiere. I would love to encode using Adobe instead of Handbrake.

hello! i am facing a huge problem of quality loss while editing Videos shot on my One plus 3t , at my pc using premier pro.Please suggest the correct presets and settings to edit or covert video formats using encoder or premier pro so quality and crispness of the footage remains intact.
@SurfacedStudio7 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately there isn't really a 'correct' preset, only something that will work for you - and that depends on the footage you have. I personally like to use H264 or H265 at fairly high bit rates, but they are lossy formats. In the end you will have to try different options to find something that keeps your quality and doesn't blow out your file size

hey i have my computer and a different high configured rendering pc so can i edit on my pc and render on the render pc , so that i can keep work on next project if yes, then how?
@chartokai8 жыл бұрын
+Akshay Mudakavi You can but it's not a feature of media encoder. If you transfer or copy the project file you want to render and the files it uses (If you follow the common work flow of each project having it's own folder it's much easier) to the rendering PC and render it normally or with Media encoder you have the non rendering PC free. Although not necessary there are cloud storage systems that can update both PCs to have all the files of a project like Google drive and dropbox.
@AkshayMudakavi8 жыл бұрын
is there any third party software or plug in which would allow me to do this (They are in the same network )

If you are on about sending the files to the rendering PC your options are: move/copy them physically with something like a hard drive or digitally with cloud computing (things like google drive or dropbox).

great tutorial, thnx. btw i have one question. when using ME for render an AE comp i feel that it render the video slower than AE. to sure about that i render the same comp by using the same format with same setting from both ME and AE and it seems that AE render is way much faster than ME. but i seem strange to me because ME is mainly for render than why it render slower than AE!! is this problem just happened with me or is it natural and happened for everyone? and if this problem is just happened to me than do you have any suggestion to solve this problem?

+An Exceptional Film Hm, can't say I noticed that. Might simply happen because you are running multiple programs and so the overall load on your CPU/memory is higher since you're technically running the export and AE in parallel

+Surfaced Studio ok, so i am not the only one who face and notice the fact :D thnx for the answer.

Great video tutorial!! I never knew how to use Media Encoder until now. You got into it quickly, the instruction was clear, and you are very engaging. Nice job!

Thank you very much for the kind words :) Glad to hear you found the tutorial useful - even though it's a bit on the older side :D

Awesome! Can you make a video about how you edit your videos? ( effects, lower thirds, programs used, etc.)

a question regarding watch folders ... i have a AE file in the watched folder with miltiple precomps and i dont want to render all of them, just the final one or two ... Is there any solution to this? AME just picks all of them automaticly :(
@SurfacedStudio7 жыл бұрын
Hm, don't think you can go quite that fine grained with AME unfortunately - at least now that I'm aware of
@kraftwerk9777 жыл бұрын
i think i got it ... a comp that is in the root of the project in AE will get renderd, and any other comps that are in a folder will not.

Nice one :) Didn't know that but glad to hear you found a solution!

This is a great way to handle output, thanks for posting it. Now I have a question about input file formats. Are there any technical, performance or workflow benefits to be had from unifying or customizing clip formats before working on them in AE or PP? Or would that simply be a waste of time and resources?
@SurfacedStudio8 жыл бұрын
I think unified workflow becomes more important if you work together with a team of people. If you just work on your own you may as well save yourself the time and use what works for you :)

Thanks for the response. I'm not sure I'd call it a 'team' exactly, but my 14 year old (who discovered your videos) is a budding video producer and I've been trying to help him out as I can. I bring the technical chops (I'm a software developer myself) and discipline, he brings the creativity and free time!

No worries :) That sounds great and I hope your son enjoys getting into film making. In the end you just have to figure out what works best between the two of you then :)

Hey I exported from Premiere cc and there was sound. I then dragged it into Encoder used youtube 1080 etc and theres no sound. This has never happened before im not sure
@Mindfulbanterofficial7 жыл бұрын
it doesnt have the little sound icon just the film. on Yours i see the film and sound icon as one. :'( !!!

+Irate Mind If you already export from Premiere, why do you want to re-encode it from AME? You can just use the right setting directly from Premiere
@Mindfulbanterofficial7 жыл бұрын
usually when i export from premiere and i put on facebook without encoding it kills the quality. So i encode it to lock in the HD. But either way if I pull a sequence over its the same thing no audio
@SurfacedStudio7 жыл бұрын
What codec / options are you applying in Media Encoder? Simply click on the preset and ensure it has the 'Export Audio' option turned on otherwise you'll just export the video
