I always use the File Open, or go to my photo album on my desktop and find the photo and right click it and choose Open in Photoshop Elements 15 Editor. Thanks George, Great video as always!

Great videos for starters!!!!!!! This is square one, nice overview! I have to thank you for making the most complete and easy to understand training course out there or watch the KZbin content for free, both have tons of information and "are not duplicated material!!!" It is very reasonably prices, is always available and very handy when working on a project! I like the on line vs the disk because I have a icon on my desktop that is always there in case I get into a jam!!! Thanks Rich! And thanks for being a good PSE friend for all these years. This video was in answer to several comments I have received complaining about my not showing how to open a file or save it afterwards in my videos. I tend to assume that my viewers are experienced enough with PSE to know that stuff, but that does mean that I have been ignoring the needs of all the people new to PSE. So this is the first step in fixing that. For my new project videos I will be adding opening and saving the file into the video project, making each project complete. That will only add a couple of minutes to the video length but make them accessible to beginners.

No, you can't do any video editing with Photoshop Elements.

I recently upgraded from ver10 to the 2023 version and decided to watch your videos to learn the enhancements that have been added. Your videos are excellent. One question, I was hoping that you had a video that explains the various backup options available in the program. Also, I would like to consider doing a full backup of my large catalog (213 GB) to my OneDrive account. Do you have a recommendation on this? Thank you.

Hi James, you can do backups of your image catalog from the Organizer, File menu. It will also allow you to backup the actual images. personally I would just do a drag and drop of my image files in to a OneDrive folder, or set OneDrive up to automatically backup that folder.

No, Photoshop Elements is just for photo editing. You can do a lot more with the more advanced Adobe Photoshop.

Do photos need to be taken RAW in order to edit them on Photoshop Elements?

No. Actually Photoshop Elements doesn't work with RAW files, but it has a built in RAW editor that lets you convert to the correct format. Editing in Photoshop Elements should be done in the native .psd file format (same format that Adobe Photoshop uses). That way you will have access to all the tools available in Photoshop Elements.
