Hey, I have been following your videos for a year now. I agree that Ai (images, 3D, videos, voices etc) have had a huge impact on the industry : everything has become easier, less skills needed. However, if someone is willing to learn and adapt, that person could use all these tools and become a multi-designer. For instance : I used to be a pure graphic designer (Photoshop and Illustrator), but since 6 months, I have started using Figma and Capcut which allowed me to step up and become a UI/UX designer. Because Photoshop and Illustrator have become easier, I can just forget the obsolete old methods and replace them by new knowledge. Indeed, UI/UX requires mastering animations and responsiveness which Ai can't reproduce yet. And what if Ai makes UI/UX easier ? No problem, I will learn Rive and Spline and always remain a step ahead. It's like carying a bag with stone of knowledge, once you don't need a stone anymore, you can just leave it and pick a new one. This requires some effort and will but is required to remain a competitive designer. I am not an Ai fan nor an anti-ai guy, I think there's no time to debate and that work has to be completed. That's all. Thank you for holding us on about all these updates, you're real source of information and I appreciate your honesty.

Thanks for following and watching! I agree, we just have to go with the innovations and adapt them in our own advantages. Many creatives hate AI because they feel like they spend all those years learning a skill for nothing. But I am also working with Photoshop for over 20 years now and I use AI to speed up the process of certain things. But at the end, 95% of the work I do is still done without AI. It’s fun to play around with, but for serious work you will still need the design skills which people don’t have who do everything with AI.

Can you drag any model into the program and have it behave this way? Or does it have to have been defined prior? For instance, how does it know what the "interior" of the car is, has AI determined that or was that defined by the modeler when he made it?

Hey, usually when you download 3D models from the web (depending on their extension GLTF / OBJ etc) you get more than juste one object : you get layers, parts, physics and materials. In this video, the 3D modeler which made the car had probably isolated parts of the car into separate layers allowing the people to quickly select each part. Photoshop (or Substance 3D should we say) has not the ability to guess and isolate each part + name it. That's why when you generate a 3D object in Substance it won't have several layers : it's just one piece. You can find a lot of 3D objects on Pixelsquid as mentionned by Zenzdesign, but also on Freepik if you have a premium subscription (they are less expensive but there's less choice). Have a nice day ;)

@@siffertlouis535 Thanks for explaining :)

At the moment, the model has to be "prepared": it's either previously divided into sub-parts, or by assigned materials.

I don't think designers will lose their jobs, because regular laypeople don't necessarily have the artistic ideas to create content, but tools like this will become new standards, much the way software like Photoshop did when it first came out.

So cool! There I was, having a free "text to 3d" option at my disposal (thanks to my photoshop abo), which I wouldn't have know about without your video :) Is there a limit to how many objects I can generate? Or how many objects I can put into a scene?
@ZenzdesignАй бұрын
Great to know, thanks for watching! Substance 3D Viewer is on the exception list of Generative Credits so unlimited for now. The limit might be how much your computer can handle
@cgvinnyАй бұрын
At the moment, you can place one object/scene at a time, but this should evolve in the future.

I cant export 3d files from Substance Viewer... that appears very messy.
@Zenzdesign2 ай бұрын
I think it is very messy as it is still beta

its nice but 50 clams per month/600 a year is too much.

Yes these tool mean you can make cool ideas like everyone else … and with everything looking really cool nothing looks cool because it all looks like garbage
