They are meant for artists working at a professional level, why else would you drop that much? its not meant for little anime fan art. Adobe simply charges that much because they can. They have more or less a monopoly in the professional space. Since they’re the “standard” they know how much they can charge. Adobe isn’t special. The product is priced based on how much they know the consumer is willing to pay. Wacom is horrendously overpriced due to the same circumstance. There is a way around free trials, I use it for premium on KZbin. You get the free trial, then go to your subscriptions in the settings and hit cancel, you can do this as many times as you want and you don’t get billed. And you can still access until it expires, this only works on IOS. I figured this out as a broke student, it helps.

But expect "way better tailored to Procreate's strengths" brushes from Max Ulichney for example. And the defaults should be also much better as Procreate 5 comes out in (hopefully) a few weeks.

As an illustrator, this is why I've always sailed the high seas for Photoshop. Once I found Clip Studio I bought it immediately. $50 for a great program is extremely fair. Paying a monthly subscription to use a piece of software is absurd. TBH Adobe isn't even the king of art programs anymore now that Procreate and Clip Studio are out there. Sad to see Clip follow the monthly sub bullshit on the Ipad though. Definitely won't be using it when i get an Ipad.

Being able to afford ipad and pencil doesn't mean you can afford every single subscription model that is being offered, eventually all of them will add up. Plus, they don't offer much more value than procreate. In this case, if you actually pay for fresco even after knowing about procreate, and you can't justify why, that's when there's something wrong with your finances.
