Excellent tutorial but I'd like to point out for beginners that you can't do this to symbols, only static images/ vectors. So if you want a nested animation then it won't work and I would not recommend this sort of rigging in an animated project as there is only so much that you can do with this (this is fine once in a while for small objects). The tried and true way with multiple layers, symbols and masks is still the way to go sadly (its a lot to wrap your head around, sorry ) although the layer parenting feature which is quite recent does help out a lot. Also asset warping is very buggy and limited. You're better off looking into the puppet pin tool in after effects.

Question: I am interested in making 2d animation video but before I start my subscription with Adobe I have a question: Can Adobe animate software create mesh automatically on to any image so that I can create 2d animation using images? Are there already images available which we can use?

I'm trying to do y'alls tutorial and I'm doing it exactly right, but it won't let me freeze the joints. So I'm stuck forever on step 6 of 12. It's blurred out and won't let me click on it.

I don't think that any time soon adobe animate will become a high end animation tool. Yes it cant be used for production, but it will never be able to compete with other big names. There isn't any clear vision what Adobe is trying to build from our beloved macromedia flash. The coding part is very unclear. I really don't believe that any new users are trying to learn action script. So why even keep it, maybe it should be replaced with something more popular? The usage of html 5 also isn't very frequent. I haven't seen any interesting examples of using it. Also, I don't like how they make various independent tools for very narrow tasks. I mean what's up with character animator ? That stuff really don't have any future. In several years I can see it being discontinued. Maybe it should be embedded into the adobe animate. I don't know.. Why not to concentrate on making a one strong animation tool instead of messing around with other small projects?

I am doing flash since the beginning of time. I had made many animations and games till date. I had to learn-unlearn-learn coding several times and not sure where am I going. One of my client's games was done in actionscript 2.0. The game did not work when actionscript 3.0 came. I had a tough time leaning and adopting AS3.0 and port it. Then google chrome dropped support for flash. Now I again rewrote the entire code in HTML5 JavaScript with almost no support from Adobe. Just that animation assets are managed well in Animate CC than doing pure HTML5 JavaScript sprites.

This looks like a good addition. But when you start rigging your object it changes it to a really low rez bitmap image, and looses all it's vector sharpness! Now you end up with a blurry image! Kinda pointless.

Hi - you can turn off this option under Preferences > Drawing > uncheck Auto convert vector to bitmap for better warping and tweening. Thanks!
@piterisparkeris47703 жыл бұрын
@@mohanarajcs9532 Right, but then what's the point of using it if the warping and tweening function isn't good after you uncheck that box? Also, I believe that you'll gonna get your software crashed if you try to rigg vector shapes...

@Sharkalien103 жыл бұрын
The asset warp tool doesn't work on symbols, only on bitmaps and vector shapes, like drawing objects and groups. If you want to use it on a symbol, you'll have to break it apart first.

If the rigging is not possible with symbols then its useless in film production environment. You can't actually create professional riggs in that case. Adobe should really try to work harder on this. The first impression really hyped me up, but now I am just disappointed.. False advertising.
