@@aussiecowboah8825 of course they are healthier. Genetic diversity decreases the probability that duplicate copies of a bad gene will be inherited. You can selectively breed purebreds but you have to pay meticulous attention to health screening, hip testing elbow testing eye testing cardiac testing Etc. Every pure breed has predisposition to different ailments. Dobermans have cardiac issues and Von Willebrand's disease. German Shepherds and Malinois need to be tested for eyes, hips and elbows. German Shepherds in particular are prone to hip dysplasia because they have been so popularized that too many backyard breeders bred them without doing proper Health testing. The working line German Shepherds don't suffer from dysplasia as much as the show line Shepherds do. And Malinois suffer from hip dysplasia even less because they are not nearly as popular as German Shepherds. If they continue to increase in popularity I fear that backyard breeders will also ruin them by causing them more health problems without doing proper screening prior to breeding. of the story is, he want to get a Shepherd, get a working line German Shepherd Malinois Cross or just get a working line German Shepherd. They're close enough cousin breeds that they will usually look purebred. They will either look like a Malinois only slightly larger or Like a Shepherd. They don't look like mutts at all and a lot of these X Malinois, German Malinois or Shepinois are often mistaken for purebred Malinois or purebred German Shepherds. Some will have the van coat of the Malinois but will be larger with a larger head and a fuller coat Like a Shepherd. But they will have the square structure of the Malinois. In contrast, stumble have the black Sable coat of their working line Sable German Shepherd and have the longer body of the shepherd. I reiterate, a working line German Shepherd is an entirely different creature than a show line German Shepherd. Do a simple Google search on black Sable working line German Shepherd and you will see what I mean. You don't see them on the street that often as pets. They are primarily used for police military and protection

I would love to know from which breeder you bought him. I miss my dog very much and I would like in the future the new one to look the same as the previous one, that is like the one from the video. @primalcritters2 жыл бұрын
@@jimmynich4791 well then you must not be familiar with working line German Shepherds. The show line ones that most people know about are pathetic examples of the breed and not what a true German Shepherd should be. The working lines are tough as nails
@primalcritters2 жыл бұрын
@@jimmynich4791 depends on the German Shepherd Malinois being bread. If you're breeding a working line German shepherd with a Malinois you'll have an amazing dog. @primalcritters2 жыл бұрын
@@Splashstar216 exactly. Most people I see with Shepherds have the show line Shepherds with very poor nerves and character bred only for good looks which I don't even think look that great because they look so deformed. A real working line German Shepherd is tough-as-nails and an incredible dog. Most people don't even know what they are though. I've met countless people with gorgeous black Sable working line German Shepherds that they happen to get from a rescue and all they knew was that it was the best dogs ever had that they figured it was a husky mix because they don't know what a black Sable German Shepherd is. I had to explain that that's a working line German Shepherd and that's why it's such an awesome dog

@AdolescentDogsUK3 жыл бұрын
If you are going to buy a working breed, I would always recommend seeking a reputable breeder, rather than one who purposely breeds mixes. Dogs like Max are high drive and need a working home where they will take part in hobbies such as agility, scentwork, tracking or protection sports. Generally they dont' fair well in pet homes and often struggle with behaviours such as reactivity, whcih aren't fun to live with!

What happens when you run out of treats ? Or do you just make sure you don't.
@AdolescentDogsUK2 жыл бұрын
It depends what stage you are with training. In the early aquisition stage, we use alot of treats, but once the dog is confidently responding, not only do we put the dog on a variable reward schedule (so they're being rewarded more randomly), but we also use other reinforcement (toys, play, touch, praise, the environment)
@cynicaltexan96394 жыл бұрын
So how does working them of treats so they do it regardless work?
@AdolescentDogsUK4 жыл бұрын
We train using a variety of reinforcers such as food, toys, praise, touch and the environment. Having the reinforcer there doesn't guarantee your dog will respond to you. Training your dog to understand each cue in different environments and with different distractions takes time.

@@AdolescentDogsUK Will it do it even without the owner's supervision, when roaming on its own?
@AdolescentDogsUK Жыл бұрын
@@naturewatcher7596 no, because its against the law for dogs to be off lead around livestock in the UK. So there would never be a reason for a dog to be unattended around livestock. If you have a dog who is killing for fun, then your dog needs some management in place, i.e a lead to prevent them from rehearsing this behaviour, and training to improve on lead control if required. I would never recommend attempting to retrain a sheep killer as it would be incredibly irresponsible.

I really don't want to be negative here but why use kids as the test subject to social proof?? Why risk? Kid should be in protective gear or dog needs to be on a leash / have a muzzle or something to avoid any "accident" at ALL costs... Trust me I know what it's like to trust our dogs with all of our heart etc as I have a Belgian Malinois x German Shepherd mix and have trained her with over 35 tricks, etc but still I don't play with taking a chance on a young kid. Not a crash dummy. Not worth it.

Tricks are not Obedience, you might have been able to train the dog to do tricks but you had no control over behavior, if you train Obedience properly then you should not have to worry, if you do then you are a terrible trainer and a terrible handler.
