Almost feminine nuanced charming salon piece (yet suitable for concert performances due to its vast breath)......although middle section appears vigorously developed.....and finale carries out a passionate climax before ending with a short but effective cadenza. Attractive as usual with Von Henselt

Garbage as usual with Von Henselt

Not to say this is not beautiful, but I found that many of henselt pieces modulate in the same way
@r0mmm2 жыл бұрын
Really? Didnt know that. Do you know in which way?
@jarjuicemachine2 жыл бұрын
@@r0mmm his signature modulation is, for example Bflat major->sth->D minor->F major->Bflat major, and D minor->sth->A minor->C major->F major. Can you spot the pattern?
@jarjuicemachine2 жыл бұрын
@@r0mmm The reason this is so noticable is because I think his signature modulation wasted a modulation to the minor key. Instead, I would like the piece to develop on the minor key and follow the flow. That's only my opinion though.

Rachmaninoff got his textures from studying Henselt.

Good piece, very cohesive and structured, and representative of that certain " classicism" of german ascent inherited from the Beethoven- Mendelssohn line... I have difficulties, personally, to find this type of Music as " more inspired" or " better" than Chopin' s Ballades, and also i don' t find a " feminine" gracefulness here... I think, instead, that Henselt was close to some lisztian techniques in pianistic writing, and so here i hear a masterful composition with beautiful semi contrapuntal passages... Beautiful but probably Henselt' s Etudes op.2 are his real masterpiece. Thanks a lot for this interesting post.

@Gavin Yerg - What a weird way to shamelessly show your jealousy to the world. Your bitter and covetous comment is as awkward as it is embarrassing. I almost feel sorry for you.

"Very cohesive and structured"? You're just saying words you don't understand, the form of this piece is a joke.
@owomoxcx3 жыл бұрын
It was so good until the end 😢 Maybe I'm dumb but it felt like the themes weren't properly resolved by the time the end came and the last chord, despite it finishing with a picardy third, felt like it came from nowhere. I still enjoyed the piece though

@@larsstolz ... I was commenting on the composition itself not the performer?? Not liking a piece because you can't play it is the dumbest thing I've ever heard of

Von Henselt is awesome. This is as great music as one can find... What Chopin created was beyond music. Beyond perfection. It was, and still is, a mystery.

Good, bu the recitation passages weren't terribly original... I do love the passionate idiom, however.
