The only thing I HATE about that setup, being a volunteer at a PetSmart, is that those places are so small - behind the cages is a narrow hallway, then on the side, at the one I volunteer at, at least, is a small room with cat toys, scratching posts, etc - and not enough room for the cats to play, which is hard when there are 7 - 10 cats to look after/let play around a little, and some of them still need a little space/are not 100% used to other cats yet.

Heh, I usually let them all out at once - the ones that want to come out on their own, rather (since I don't want to force the frightened cats out) - mainly because it is a hell of a lot easier to clean out their litterboxes, and get at their food/water bowls to clean out while they are out playing - on the other hand, however, I gotta be a little more attentive to potential conflicts. ~_~ I also am amused/annoyed at the number of people who, in spite of the "do not tap on the glass" sign, don't tap, but BANG on the glass, scaring the shit out of cats - both figuratively AND literally >_

Getting cats from shelters are great but its ok to buy one from a pet store. You are still adopting it by taking ownership of it and choosing ti care for it and by making that comitment.

IT isn't Petsmart itself doing this, but an outside organization, like for example in NY it's done with the NY Cat Coalition, who rescues cats... I know, I volunteer at a PetSmart in NY every week.... great cats, who hopefully always find great homes.

sadist shit ever!! ppl mostly adopted babys!! I fell In love with a over weight 4y cat!! not knowing is passed!! I walked passed the kittens just chekin all cages tell this... big nose goffy big cat look at me straight in the eyes ( hey look.. u searchern for cat and I need to get outa jail)... ..so I adopted him 2 days later ( do a home check) took him home!! ooo man!!! he has Ben my right hand man but $$$$$ down petsmart smh..... he was very sick on top of worms!!!! had to get meds for all and also check my husband and I for the worms he was droping!!! about 2 grand!!! but 3 years later he's healthy and able to get him to drop his weight since he was over weight!!! he's more active and has a sister a rot pup yay... ( hates his sister)
