Adopting Two Gorillas: A Wildlife Story of Love and Care | SLICE WILD

Pierre and Eliane Thivillon, founders of a wildlife park in Saint-Martin La Plaine, France, have dedicated their lives to caring for over 850 animals. Their journey took an unexpected turn on October 27, 1998, when they adopted two orphaned gorillas, Digit and Gincko. After Pamela, the mother gorilla, rejected her babies, Pierre and Eliane stepped in to bottle-feed and raise them. Today, they share their home with two massive gorillas, with Digit already weighing over 130 kilos and Gincko soon to reach 260 kilos.

It would be best if they were introduced to a captive family of gorrilas in a zoo or sanctuary. There must be some reason this hasn't been done

It's a beautiful thing that you did, but why have you not tried to put them back in their natural habitat, trees, fruits, and all the things that come with being born free? They are all precious to our world. ❤

The problem here is that the gorillas will need somebody to put them in their place while getting bigger, you can watch videos how they start to be nasty and their pops smacks them around a little, thats the part of good parenting...who's going to do this here? They too strong
