I am a beagle owner myself and raising him was the toughest thing as there was hardly any beagle specific information on the internet. So I took it on me and decided to share all the knowledge that I learned the hard way. In my videos, I cover all kinds of topics related specifically to beagles. So make sure to subscribe to our channel as I upload 2 videos every week.

It's isn't always that the owner was abusive. We had a Jack Russell whose mommy was forced into a House of Ruth which could not have dogs. It was clear from the get go that the woman was not the only one being abused. I spent from morning until night teaching her that hands were for petting and feeding and that was it. By evening, she'd be lying in my lap watching TV. Then I'd go down to bed and in the morning she would be barking and growling like she had never seen me before. This went on for more than a week. But she never bit me. That she did to my brother when he met her. But finally it got through and she became such a sweet little doggy. Even if you do get an abused dog, enough love will always be rewarded 1000 fold.

@@johnflynn3089 I can definitely feel your pain. I lost my Lucky and am still devastated. Unfortunately in my case I am wheelchair bound and no longer have a yard for a dog to romp in so getting another is not an option. I hope you can get another soon so that you can once again have the total love and devotion they bring.

I purchased my beagle and after buying I realized he came from a puppy mill. So I'm glad I got him and gave him a nice loving home. I'm thinking about getting a rescue or one from the shelter. I know I won't purchase another dog.

My family has been adopting beagles for the past 18 years. The good thing about adopting adult beagles, is they are past the chewing stage and most are house trained. They are very sweet dogs. And love people. Just study up on the breed before getting a beagle. They are scent hounds and will follow their nose when they smell something interesting. Also you have to make sure you don't over feed beagles or they will get fat. They love food.

Another option are breed rescues or rescues that foster dogs in homes. This is the best since fosters can tell you more about the dog you are adopting from their foster home. I adopted my current dog, a 1 1/2 year-old Beagle, from a rescue group. She went back to the rescue about a year later because she kept escaping from her owner's yard (Beagles are escaping artists!). She was not abused and is everything a Beagle should be - loves people, dogs, children, and a good snifari! I am working on obedience without the use of treats, and it's working. Lucy is very smart, but also mischievous. I adopted my previous two Goldens from shelters and they both went on to become Therapy dogs. I've had friends who got their Goldens from excellent breeders, only to lose them at 4-5 years of age. You can't predict lifespan. My last adopted Golden lived to 15 and had no health issues except old age. So please don't overlook adoption - I do believe they know they are getting a second chance at life, and hopefully a better one.

Good luck finding a rescue Beagle here in Arizona. Our Beagle club rescued over 3,000 Beagle when in California. We had one of those rescue Beagles with issues. Best decision ever! Our other beagle took to this dog. I think he sensed she needed a friend and they were inseparable. Been looking for a pair Beagle to replace our 2 Cuddle Monsters. The right ones will show up. If you ever saw the first time a Lab Beagle feels grass under there paws you will know that Adoption is way better way to go!

I got Frank the Wonder Beagle after trying to get a rescue. The people who ran the Beagle rescue told me that I wasn't qualified to have a dog in my life. So for the same price as going through a rescue, Frank the Wonder Beagle graces my life. Would never go through a rescue again.

We purchased a beagle. It was a month old. Got it vaccinated. We all loved it but it was so naughty that after one year we gave it to a very good family.

Hi, how are you? It seems like you are the same lady who runs retriever channel because these are my two favorite types of dogs. Of course my budget cannot afford any dogs right now I would love to however, when that time comes, there’s so much research you can do on the international on KZbin and actual websites, how do we know what the people are posting on? The websites are true or not? Also, one big question about prices no matter what type of dog you are getting what are you paying for? I know you kind of talked about it in the video you can see some beagles going for $800 that are puppies and also some better less than $150. For the most part, I do see breeders which I think is fair charge every sibling about the same price. The million dollar question is how do you know if you’re overpaying for a dog and also if the price is too low, is it too good to be true with inflation, cost and scammers out there how do we know if you were getting the best puppy for your money and health records? Well, none of us human beings or animals are full proof? If you are able to answer any of these questions, that would be great! Thank you and have a fabulous day😊

Always trust sources like petmd and akc.org, they provide the best info about our dog's health. Prices can vary from place to place. So you will have to check with few breeders in your area to check the price. And always meet the parents of the puppy, see how healthy, and well behaved they are. You can watch this video on selecting the best puppy: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nGfKlZSiarR3Y7M&ab_channel=BeagleCare You can even consider to adopt ❤.

Adopt, don't buy... don't forget to mention the true reality that beagles from breeders that are not "purchased" end up being sold to testing laboratories. Thus, by buying from breeders you are maintaining the cycle of animal testing

Im sorry to burst your little bubble but shelter dogs usually come with a TON more issues than those who come from a breeder. Rescue dogs have anxiety, and ptsd and does NOT guarantee the dog will be fit to be adopted. At least if they come from a breeder, they grow up with you from the start and you will know their personality from day one. Its not fair to just look at one side just because it has a bad reputation it does not mean ALL of them are bad.

@jessmjfan989 While you're correct, the fact that there are too many animals on the streets as is - and too many get euthanized each year - ultimately trumps the fact that shelter dogs come with behavioral issues. I'd rather have my dog with behavioral issues than never to have had him at all because he was put down for the fact that someone didn't want him due to his behavioral issues.

@Kristen Weiderman so, you are raising adopted beagles?
@kristenweiderman
@kristenweiderman Жыл бұрын
@brookebailey6650 Yes! I adopted a one and a half year old beagle mix (my recent embark test informed me he has 12% husky in him as well lol). But he does struggle with separation anxiety and some aggression towards other dogs. We've worked through a lot of it, he's come a long way! My advice is to not give up when things get hard.

@@jessmjfan989 what’s the guarantee that your breeder has analysed the DNA of the previous 3 generation of parents? Breeder dogs have behavioural issues owing to genetics as well. Not to mention a TON of health issues. Dogs which are not purchased are then euthanised. If the buying stops, the breeding stops. In most cases, breeding is not ethical at all and that’s just the sad reality.
