I wish Nigerian government will do more to compliment the hard working people of Nigeria . One thing I love about Kenya is how their government put much effort in making life easy for its people .

Proud of Kenya and proud of you Dolphine for your work. Most people don't realize the benefits of electric mobility and still belief the false messaging spread by traditional auto and the petrol industry. Not only is it safer, more powerful AND more reliable. It's also cheaper to operate per kilometer of ownership and requires significantly less maintenance. In then end, global ground transport is turning to electric not for environmental reasons only; but because of simple economics.

But the truth remains that with current technology Evs are not sustainable, even developed countries like America cannot fully go Ev because their power grid cant sustain it, mining the copper and cobalt required to make the batteries is also hazardous to the environment. This EV movement isnt going anywhere unless they find a way to make those batteries cheaper or more energy efficient

@@antony6799 Old fake news bro. The grid in the States is growing like crazy to keep up with the increasing demand with or without EVs, as with most countries around the world. And since most charging is done at night in most developed parts of the world at people's homes, this HELPS to balance the grid when night time utilization drops. Studies that show a grid being overwhelmed, have an increase of everything but grid infrastructure. Almost all such studies are funded by the same petrol industry interest or old auto. Finally, cobalt is being used less and less for EV batteries. Many battery chemistries don't even use cobalt any more. Besides, cobalt has been used for generations in oil and petrochemical refining and other industrial applications. These mines didn't just start when EVs emerged. Copper is in all your electronics, the wiring in our homes, network cabling, etc. It's hypocritical to point out the use of these materials for one thing and ignore what the biggest use cases have been for decades. Btw, sales of EVs in the US has increased by 57% ytd. And they're still lagging being the pace in many other places. The transition is inevitable. Petrol and deisel vehicles in a generation will be like donkey carts and ox carts today. Who thinks they can fight the future or simple economics and win? They will end up left behind with their older inferior technology as time and the generations move forward.

@@antony6799This is the perfect Truth and it's an Agenda being pushed by WEF and the woke globalists elite for absolute control in the near future....For gasoline engines they can't be controlled u simply fuel up and go but EVS can be shudown at will using powerful algorithms...The Hydrogen Cell( by Toyota) is far better than an EV and WEF is totally ignoring it ......coz it doesn't fit the so called green agenda they are pushing to nations and this is very scriptural....

The battery problem is still the dirtiest part of electric vehicles but I believe if we get more people on electric vehicles it will pump more money into battery manufacturing and hopefully soon we can get clean batteries. Kenya is on the right track with this.

The government must invest in high capacity city commuter transportation and provide sufficient number of buses easily affordable by all and sundry,,,,that way matatus will die a natural death just like the SGR has changed transportation on the busy Nairobi - Mombasa corridor by safety and punctuality,,,, eventually passengers save money and lives for that matter,,, matatus are not the way to go for a country matching towards middle income status and industrialization

I think entrepreneurs need to seize this opportunity as they have already begun to do. Generally, the nations that always look to government to "fix" everything stay broke. Problems are opportunities to create wealth and build for the future. The role of government is to be a good referee making sure everyone knows and plays fairly by the rules. Government isn't suppose to be on the field playing. You play. You win. Whether it's one electric bicycle or boda, a group of old Tuk-tuks you convert over time or a fleet of electric buses as some with more money are doing. You play. You win. The government is supporting the game. Jump in and play. Blessings.

Kenya is a joke of a country. Kenya had the best public transport system in the 1960s. Jomo Kenyatta came up with a primitive idea to introduced mini-busses... a knee-jerk irrational reaction to address jobless africans on the streets to save face and his ego. Kenya bus transit times were interrupted, the mini busses became a menace and still a menace to this day. Kenya bus collapsed several years ago and today chinese busses are on the streets of Kenya again...
@thirdfloor81
@thirdfloor81 26 күн бұрын
Kenya bus couldn’t handle the growing city population, so private transport was introduced to supplement them. However, mismanagement in KBS and high competition killed the bus industry. BTW these buses are not Chinese but from Europe.
