There are ethical breeders as some do follow the guidelines such as not giving away the puppy before a certain number of weeks or something. Spoilers: Most shelters don't really have breeds like GSDs and Rotties.

You may have a point ✔️ That said, certain doggos, like those I follow on The Farm Channel (Australia), have among their 20 doggos + a rescued dingo, 4 GSDs. One of them, Lily, is a stick hunter. She actually dances around with those rather big sticks from the paddock of their 32 acre property. No casualty thus far.
