My Dog was like that with our Daughter when for a long while. She loved her but from a distance. Literally was afraid she would break the baby to the point if they were both on the floor she wouldn’t stand up to walk, she would scoot on the rug, until she passed the baby and was a safe 5 foot distance away. No hate or jealously was literally love. The first time my Daughter went to her she made the sweetest sigh I’ve heard because she wanted that moment with the baby so much and was waiting for it. She still looks at my now 10 year old Daughter with pure love even though she doesn’t hear or see well anymore at now age 17…

We put the puppy in front of her and she made DAMN sure she didn't even look at her to the point she got up, turned around so her back was to us and sat back down.
