My family raised quarterhorses for racing and when they were in their stalls, one of our barn cats would jump on their backs and groom herself. The horses would always crane their necks back to welcome the cat, but not one ever tried to dislodge her. She was responsible, after all, for keeping mice out of their hay and oats.
