That's not at all true. They found a more accomodating refuge for these traumatized organisms, organisms enslaved and traumatized by giant agri and hellish human factory farms. They did not romantically set out to provide them with a beach front vacation rather they sought some refuge for these lone survivors because it speaks to our own natural orientation towards the common good and symbiotic renaturalization (and rewilding). We must stop romanticizing and anthropomorphizing these autonomous and self-actualizing FELLOW inhabitants of this rare earth. Such empathy for all living things should once again be the norm not as it is today the sad exception wholly due to systems of competition, greed and hierarchy.

I watch a lot of rescue videos and all rescuers know it's about the love factor. I've seen people rescue old cats and dogs who are given a short time as they are in the dying process, and they want to give them a home for their last days. Then they go home and get loved up and they're prancing around like happy kids and go on living a lot longer, sometimes years longer. It's magical.

I rescued once a piglet from a big breeding facility. Then we had it, and it was not well. It took as some time to just realise that it es simply depressed. He was kind of lonely, we couldn't be there for him 24/7. So we slowly introduced him to our dog and let them spend more time together and they where besties at the end. Both are well. I just learned how social piglet are, and sensible.

I am like so many who just sobbed the entire time! Oh my heart just broke seeing where poor Eli’s mom and so many other precious cows were kept: treated like nothing! ( made me sick and absolutely terrified knowing this is how majority of livestock is treated and nobody does anything)! - it is wrong! And seeing how fearful little Markey was at first was just so sad- then I had bubbles out of my nose from laughing as I was crying watching her spill Gatorade. Then back to heavy sobbing watching them travel to the new sanctuary- the car filled with comfy straw and how they stopped to see the ocean- these people have the best hearts ever- and how late at night the second sanctuary was waiting with welcomes just made my heart melt at their acceptance of these little babies and the people driving there. It was awesome seeing how well their cows were and happy like any animal should be! I wish we all had louder voices to end mass murder of slaughter places- such a waste ! I don’t eat meat- I don’t judge people who do: but I have asked many grocery places from Walmart, to H‑E‑B, to Randall’s, to Krogers what happens to the meat at night and it is thrown away and any deli made rotisserie chicken or food is thrown away- this is millions of stores all over America that never sell all of the meat or chicken daily - it just is senseless killing and then to see how each day for these animals is horrific just breaks me. I am so happy that Eli and Marley were given Angels but I pray every animal gets angels from their abuse or places of misery! And for a change of hearts that work at these awful places to just see it is wrong. But veterinary doctors must change the rules themselves because it is those who serve on AVMA that make slaughter rules: and people need to stand up for all livestock: end horses being killed in Mexico! I could go on and on and on. I know someone will say something mean back just to be a jerk- but I do believe more and more people are very concerned about animals! I read so many posts a day on these stories and I hear the kind hearts… maybe together we can find a solution to save millions at a time!

Actually, humans are the same. We all want to be accepted, to feel part of a group, but rejection and perpetuated violence makes people feel inadequate and ashamed, so we develop this belief that we need something external to feel validated and be worth something; like wealth, power, stardom, looking a certain way, feeling superior at something, being perfect, pleasing other people, taking alcohol and drugs, etc. It's the *lack of love* that's responsible for these things, so it's important to show other people the same respect and kindness that we would all need for ourselves, and to understand that we have the same capacity for love, care, and joy that we like to see in free happy animals. If all children were raised this way, the world would be a much better place.

@@Unknown-uk9he I'm sorry to say it, but there is no "good" way to treat an animal if your goal is to exploit them for their meat and milk. Thereby, it's not sustainable to treat the animals right, give them space and let them grow old. Calves will always be taken from their moms. Moms will always end up becoming depressed after the 2nd or 3rd time. The animals will always be overfed in order to maximize profits. You're describing some sort of Valhalla slaughterhouse. It just doesn't exist.

Fish can be amazing creatures too. So many end up in bad living conditions and so there's always fish and aquatic pets in need of help! It just really depends! Fish can be taught tricks (you have to repeat it consistently since most fish only have a five month to a year long memory). Fish are beautiful just like cows, pigs, horses and goats and all animals at that.

@Lorraine Fryer No I've definitely seen many documentaries regarding the subject and I have read several pieces of literature that expose the industry. There are ugly sides to the meat industry for sure, especially in first world countries that mass produce for the consumers. I however, have personal accounts and have read, as well as seen accounts of some traditional farmers who do not fit the profile of "money hungry, cold-blooded slaughters" that you are painting them to be. If you just take the time to research from a non-biased point of view, you can find that not every farmer raises their animals in a inhumane way. There are some who follow proper practices in order to ensure the best health for their animals. I am not brainwashed by any means, I'm just able to analyze information from a non-biased perspective without letting my emotions blind me from the truth, and it seems that you are not able to do the same. Let me let you in on a secret of life: it is never wise to generalize regular groups of any kind in life and assume that all individuals of a group are the same just because you've heard of a couple that are a certain way. That is close-mindedness and that only leads to a life of bitterness, which is not something you should want. You've supposedly "done your homework," but you still come up short and one-sided.

Cows only make milk if they have a baby, so milk farmers will make sure they have a baby for milk production, but then sell the male babies for slaughter. Female babies will most likely be either sold or raised away from the mom to be a future milk cow also.
