Adorable moment premature baby gorilla is reunited with his family | SWNS

The tiny western lowland gorilla, nicknamed 'Baby G', was born on October 26 last year at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo in Cleveland, Ohio, USA.
He was the first baby gorilla to be born at the zoo in its 139-year history, to his mother Nneka, 23, and dad, Mokolo, 34.
However Nneka did not show appropriate maternal care, so the troop’s eldest female, Fredrika, 47, who herself has raised four infants, instinctively took over looking after the new born.

Brings tears to my eyes! Gorillas fascinate me...their emotional intelligence is so human like! I wish they could all be free to live in their natural habitat with no bars or cages or circuses! Thank goodness there are rescue groups and zoos to take in and care for abandoned wild animals and heal them and release them to the wild. Animals are so wonderful!!

You're preaching to the full gospel pentacostal choir on that one. I want to bring little Freddie home and raise him myself!!!!!! He is just so precious and CUTE!!!!! I firmly believe he is in the best possible place, however. He has his surrogate momma, alot of primate momma #2's / aunties, an entire zoo staff full of humans that love him, he is gonna be just fine. He may even get a little spoiled, and as cute as he is, he deserves some spoiling, and all the best things life has to offer him.

@@bari2883 Oh, I know. There is no way I could, or WOULD, actually raise a baby gorilla to adulthood and have him or her as part of the family. One wrong move, and someone would be in the hospital. One bad day, and the house could get 1,000% demolished, and / or someone killed during a tantrum. Just wishful thinking, wishing it were possible without the potential danger aspect of it. And they really are better off being raised by momma and daddy gorillas. That baby gorilla sure is adorable though...

Grew up in the 70's going to the wild animal park ( we lived so close you could hear the Lions when the Santa Anna's blew . This is absolutely A BLESSING ! Blown away you can watch like this , this close and so intimate , amazing. Give yourselves a pat on the back , what a sweetheart !
