My husband still misses his collie from when he was a kid. That dog meant a lot to him 😢 One day we will get one together and I’ll get to see how great of a breed they are for myself. For now, we cherish every moment with have with our goldendoodle. She’s the best companion I’ve ever had and I can’t imagine life without her. Dogs have that effect on people ❤️ it’s bittersweet

So true, dogs don't replace people but there is something about a bond with a dog, there is no side of you that you need to hide from them, they are just there by your side whenever you want.

I used to have a Rough Collie named Trilby. She was a really smart dog who did things that all collies were bred to do like scaring coyotes away from my house. Or running off to the park to heard the geese. She was also friends with my cockatiel.

@Samson 92 She was used as a breeder in a puppy mill in Tennessee. When she turned 7 she was listed on craigslist and a collie rescue group (Tri State Collie Rescue) saved her. She was fostered in Louisville, Kentucky and I drove from the Chicago area to get her. She is the nicest, sweetest and most gentle fur baby I have ever had. She is a beautiful Tri Color Rough Collie with all of the collie characteristics, i.e. head tilts, crossed paws, and a streak of stubborness when she does not want to go outside in the snow. Just a wonderful dog and wonderful people working at Tri State Collie Rescue. They matched us perfectly.

we got a try collie rough. and she is the best dog never runs away never bites (unless its a play bite) she loves snuggles and pets hates brushing loves family. and she loves our new baby cousen. she sits by him protecting him from the roudy dogs giving him kisses and licking him like her own pup. and her name is holly the rough collie.
