Also that vintage notepad is called a steno pad- secretaries used to take messages on them and dictation from their boss (a type of shorthand that they would type out once they were done listening to the messages or getting the dictation from their boss). That’s a steno book. The doll would take notes in the steno book, maybe even using shorthand, if she can find anyone to teach her. All secretaries used to use short hand to take dictation, but it’s now a fading art.
