Thank you so much for sharing ❤❤ I’m not sure what my new Issues are but as I slowly go by process of elimination I look around the internet to figure out ! I already have been diagnosed with CRPS and the doctors always just throw every new issue in that basket But I KNOW MY BODY . The labs they run are all normal so far . It’s just a lot . I’m also way way over due for dentist but don’t wanna go . Ugh 😩

@christineobservations - for some reason this is popping up in my feed all this time later - so sorry for the delay! I’m so sorry you’re navigating all this, have you found any answers since then? 🙏❤️🥄

This happened to me once at the dentist when they injected the numbing med. I was shaking so bad and vomited allover the place multiple times. I was extremely dizzy and couldn’t stand up straight or walk a straight line. I fell overtop his metal table. He became angry and pretty much had me leave. He was/is a family friend too! I made it a mile or less down the road and had to pull over from vomiting so much. It was the worst experience and why I am so anxious at every dentist appointment.

@BS-dq1kz I’m so deeply sorry to hear you had to endure all this! What a scary experience! I’m so glad you pulled over! Did you end up injecting? It can make future dentist trips very unnerving for sure! 🙏❤️🥄

Personally, I have always succeeded in self-advocating to go the route of numbing without epinephrine, for my dental work, and I have not run into issues of low cortisol during a procedure. However, I have heard lots of stories from facebook of experiences like this from epinephrine. My understanding is that we (people with adrenal insufficiency) can handle epinephrine when it's needed (eg: for longer procedures/to reduce bleeding during more significant dental work/in a health emergency), but we then need to plan to increase our cortisol dosing accordingly (ideally preventatively, in advance, but sometimes with the emergency injection). I always make sure to have my emergency injection at-hand for dental work, and I try to proactively explain when/how to use it, just in case.

@annjohnston3397 such a good reminder about advocating and being prepared! It is definitely necessary and sometimes scary how often drs or dentists dismiss it. I know I’ve run int to many situations where medical professionals disregard what I have to say so I’ve found it’s best if I can bring my husband so he can also help advocate and reassure the necessary precautions 🙏🩷🥄 Vanessa

Hi Vanessa. Nice to meet you. I hope you are doing well. I had an adrenal ectomy about a year ago and I have one more visit in a year to have the all clear with my remaining adrenal gland. I had to get a new endocrinologist because my old endocrinologist office shut down this new endocrinologist is very good but I can tell she’s not familiar with adrenal issues as she said it’s not a big deal to not have both adrenal glands. just a simple as taking a Cortizone pill which I know is not the case, I was just wondering if you know of any good endocrinologist in my area that are familiar with adrenal issues and sufficiency etc. I live in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. Thank you so much for your help. I just started watching your videos and I love them very informative.

@tanaf3482 I have no clue how I missed this, but hi! So happy you’re here 🤗 the National Adrenal Diseases Foundation has a patient recommended Dr map you may want to explore : www.nadf.us/patient-recommended-doctors.html Have you found a good Endo yet? 🙏❤️🥄

@@SeaSpriteSpoonie Hi! Yes I went in there and found one in my area who understands and had a few patients with adrenal issues. My cortisol is slightly elevated, but I suppressed on my dexa test. He didn’t recommend surgery ( I do not want unless my life depends on it). All of my other levels are fine I just have this anxious feeling that wakes me up in the am when our cortisol is the highest. I can live with this as opposed to the alternative as I know from watching videos like yours and Chrinically Fit Canada- Jill battle , how hard it is to manage adrenal insufficiency. It’s scary. You all are true warriors!! Thank you for listening and responding I hope you are doing great!

@@tanaf3482 so glad to hear you were able to find someone to work with! I’m totally on board for only doing surgery if necessary so really happy to hear you have a supportive medical team working with you. It’s a one day at a time kind of situation for sure! 🙏❤️🥄

@Threadbow definitely agree every one is individual! Have you had experience with epinephrine since your Addison’s DX? 🙏🩷🥄 Vanessa

@@SeaSpriteSpoonie I got dx by endocrinology. But the short test showed v little. So my meds got stopped when I changed drs. I have bad reactions to dental, though I don't know what it was. The usual injections. I have pots and have massive amounts of adrenaline being produced. So I've kinda given up now. My endocrinology expert moved on. They couldn't find my notes and now I just have purple dark spot in my mouth, dark patches around my eyelids The Addison short test made me v ill and anxious emotional. I have no idea what! But I can't take any injections with adrenaline raising elements in. Eds guidelines are worth a read for dental. Take a look at marfans eds operation guidelines.
