Adrian Belew has crossed the boundary between playing the guitar and transcending the human's perception of reality.

Saw him back in the '80's with King Crimson. For me he's probably the only guitarist who came close to that wild abandon we saw in Hendrix at his height. No way the same music, but definitely that wild, barely controlled "riding the scree down the mountain" chaos. More mellow and controlled now than in his youth, but he's still one of the unsung greats.

Adrian Belew- you’ve got to love the way he takes the idea of the riff, plays with it until the riff is bewildered, then sits the riff down and gives it a good telling off and shows the riff where it can go if it dares.. pure unadulterated talent..

Cant believe I have been missing Adrian Belew all these years. First time I heard him was on NIN the Downward Spiral. Never really got into King Crimson until I heard that Gavin Harrison from Porcupine Tree was playing with them (and also Bill Rieflin). I really dig Adrian’s playing and singing.
