The sleeve notes for Guitar for Mortals says about 'Nanci', "I did some shows on a bill with Nanci Griffith. 'Nanci' came out of the sweet humanity of the O. Henry quality of 'Love at the Five & Dime' and my liking of the way she used open G6 tuning." The sleeve notes for Mrs Crowe's Blue Waltz says about the title track, "Heart's Nancy Wilson and I planned some work together for this album until her pregnancy intervened. She liked Divorcee's Waltz; I wanted to make something less sad."

Hello, does anyone know if the title of this beautiful "Nanci" music is dedicated to the wonderful artist Nanci Griffith?
@HenryMcGuinnessGuitar5 жыл бұрын
Yes, he said so in the notes with this album, something to do with his "liking of the way she used the G6 tuning".
@FrancoS595 жыл бұрын
Thanks Henry, I'm not a musician but I sense that this "G6 tuning" is a bit of a special tuning, who had also used Nanci Griffith?? anyway I'm very happy that the note been dedicated to Nanci Griffith because she's an artist that i love.
@HenryMcGuinnessGuitar5 жыл бұрын
@@FrancoS59 yes I think they were friends. The G6 tuning is indeed where the guitar strings are tuned differently from usual, to make a G6 chord if you strum all the strings without fretting any of them. That's probably more information than needed, heh
