Alonso champion in 2026? That would be 21 years after his first Championship, 23 years after his first win, 25 years after his first race. Will be 45 at the time. Imagine how historic that would be. He chose Aston probably becuase of the fact that Aston have just moved in to a brand new factory, and their cutting edge wind tunnel is nearly finished and has also been under construction for years. Now pair this with their deal with Honda in 2026 to become a works team that no longer buys engines of another team... I think he sees the potential.
