I watched an interview with Michael Chiklis, last week. He is so cool! He said about his character, Vic. He's in purgatory. I don't know, if Vic will ever adapt to that kind of life?!

He was "too good" to get caught! Vic did put the team before the money but at the end he put Corinne and the kids/himself before the team. Remember, Vic was willing to take the fall for Armadio. Vic could have signed with I.C.E earlier but waited for Ronnie. Vic had multiple opportunities to either kill Shane himself or let him get arrested but he couldn't do it. Vic couldn't even kill Gilroy! Ronnie wanted Shane dead so they set him up to be killed but Vic had no problem pulling the trigger on Terry Crowley, Margos Dezerian or Guardo Lima himself.

You made a lot of good points! I believe, Vic really is a good person. Like he said, I'm a different kind of cop. And he couldn't go through with a few of the murders. His way of changing. Now he's stuck in limbo. I need to rewatch it.

The whole “Dutch killing a cat thing” was an aborted storyline. Apparently they were going to do a whole plot thread where Dutch started to morph into a killer himself, an instance of staring into the abyss too long sort of thing. They ended up scrapping this idea which is why that whole scene of him killing a cat is basically never mentioned again and the writers just pretend it didn’t happen basically.

Holy titulars that’s awesome. That could’ve been CRAZYYYY. Maybe Dutch catches wind of Vic and they start playing the blame game and go tit for tat. Would’ve made the rivalry cooler. Also really funny, my friend is a cat lover and is watching the shield. He keeps comparing himself to Dutch and I can’t wait for him to see that scene.

If you look up IMDB for the show, a lot of people leaving negative reviews, The Wire fans were always obsessed with hating this show. The Shield shows frail society, policing poor neighborhoods while going back home to richer suburbs, also cops doing mundane tasks, Vic also has so many great one liners, also members gradually becoming more important as the show progresses, more Lemansky and more Ronnie.

Yea my older brother told me that in the early 2000’s, u either watched The Shield, or The Wire haha. They were two very different shows. It’s not necessary fair to compare them. The shield was a crime drama action thriller when The Wire almost like a documentary. The Wire didn’t care about entertainment, it cared about telling these stories in the most authentic way it could.
