These were brilliant, especially the part about not saying "Just let me know".

Preciate that David. Dude that never works...they will never get back to you lol. You have to push things forward while you have the opportunity. People get distracted and forget easily.

Cool tips, thank you for the bottom of my heart! I want to share something with you to remark the importance of Tip #3: I am a Fine Art Portrait photographer that specializes in children and young adults. I like dressing them up super fancy and pose them like adult models. The little girls especially love it. One time I was shooting a group of 4 girls, about 6-7 years old, and I was having a hard time. They looked bored! So I started mixing up their names on purpose, and the more I kept my face serious, the more they laughed. Long story short, I've got a few super cool photos with good poses and a ton of them laughing hard, and the moms loved them all. So yes, be yourself, but especially, have (or make it) fun! :)

I still use an old Nikon D800. I get results that are just as good as I could get with a Z9, but I have to work harder to get the same results

Nice. I've never used Nikon before. I only have experience with Sony and Canon.

I’m not feeling you right now Bro... You are on my street with #2. There is $3000 lens that I want, probably don’t need it, but want it... but you are absolutely right, that lens will not bring me more clients... Damn you A-Train. 😂🤣🤣😂

Very insightful video! Gonna remove “let me know” out of my vocabulary lol. How do you personally go about greeting your clients when you start a photoshoot? It’s kind of awkward now that we can’t shake hands. What are some things you talk about when you’re walking together somewhere or the moments leading up to the first photo?
@AdrianLardPhoto3 жыл бұрын
Haha. That's a great question. We communicate a good amount before the shoot so it's not awkward at all when we meet up. I usually just ask them questions and get to know them a little bit. People love to talk about themselves for the most part lol. Don't go silent. Talk the whole time.

Really solid information. I know I'm not marketing my business enough. Having a hard time figuring out what works. Too many options, from Social media to direct mail and everything in between. Could use some guidance on how. What is your marketing plan? I've done some Facebook paid ads, Yelp paid ads, Pinterest paid stuff, not a lot of response to any of it.

Have you done IG ads?
@hankjonkman18933 жыл бұрын
@@MonroesArtStudio Not Instagram ads yet, but just paid to promote a blog post there, and have gotten good response so far. So that may be my next move. As long as I can narrow the reach geographicly.

When it comes to the sale, my issue is when getting the sale, they wanna dumb it down to a free shoot or a TFP and I'm like....
@AdrianLardPhoto3 жыл бұрын
Are models doing this or regular clients? You could just be targeting the wrong type of clients.
@MonroesArtStudio3 жыл бұрын
It's never from the client side. Clients understand. On the modeling side it's always iffy. Maybe it's my area, I never figured it out. I do modeling things on a different level 80% of the time because modeling and client work isn't the same all the time. I'm always upfront about pricing though, so it never makes sense for them to come back at me after getting pricing to then decide "How about Free/Trade".
