This footage is probably from the early to mid 1970s, l'm from Treharris and this takes me back a few years! I went on to work at Deep Navigation for 13 years right up to its closure in 1991..... it's a country park now.

Why didn't he ask anyone local about anything ? What was the point of this ? I was just a film about lorries having their tyres washed, what was he saying, it was all in welsh ?

Just that the amount of coal being held there was a lot and that it was necessary for the work to be there even though it was difficult for the people who lived there. It wasn't a great story to be honest and they were using a lot of water
