O think maybe In-Depth is a little too strong a description. Can the 4 inputs be used as differential or psuedo-differential? Is this a Delta-Sigma, SAR or flash ADC? Does the ADS1115 measure all inputs with respect to a common ground? How can this be used to measure 4 inouts with different ground potentials? Does it use sample and hold internally or external circuitry? There are many questions left unanswered.

You can read the Datasheet and it will tell you the answers. ADS1115 mode can be either 2 differential channels or 4 channels relative to the same GND. It is based on 16-bit ADC. It is based on sampling the measurement every several microseconds. No external circuit is needed.

What about dangling analog values in esp32..? Need to add any extra filter circuit..?
