Should not allow adult beginners to do all these complicated movements when they don’t even understand how to turnout and hold arms in the right classical positions And not safe to do pointe when they are not strong enough

It's a big frustration of mine when ballet teachers try to introduce choreography before drilling the basic technique. I enjoy technique drills much more than choreographed routines when I'm not technically up to it. I would much prefer a full day of drills.

That is why I call centre -the moment of truth- challenges expose and better inform you of weakness in technique- and so improve the connecting steps, etc., increasing confidence, and adding enjoyment to the centre. If you are too comfortable, you will not make the leaps of mental gymnastics to surpass your current level. Trust the entire process.

Adult ballet, not profess- get over it. They are living the dream, I was criticized endlessly, and even more so when I surpassed my critics. Oh, I do know other people can be so ghastly, do your best to eliminate these distractions, you will feel and do even better. ;)

I got better once I started taking advanced classes. It’s definitely a struggle (especially petit allegro) but I was able to pick up on how all the different movements connect and tell a story. That’s a big aspect of ballet you don’t get to experience in most beginner classes.
