Here are my tips: eating rice and beans, you can make a simple sauce for the beans from cooking cream (I like to use a vegan version) or some of those ready-made bases. Add some frozen veggie to it to complete the dish (carb, protein, veggie). For a meat version, I sometimes pick a canned chicken or fish. You could also make a mushroom risotto. Basically using the canned food sections saves a lot of money. I also recommend keeping an eye out for seasonal deals in the produce section. I recently bought a bag of clementines for 1€ I think. I try to eat more fruit on a regular basis as a snack because it's healthier and maybe slightly cheaper than eating sandwitches & bread constantly. We have a big bread coulture here in Finland but the toppings can get expensive (like cheese). Sometimes when there's a deal on a fake meat or something I'll buy it for the freezer. I have a planetary health diet / flexatarian for the environment so I've been lucky in a way that the vegan and vegetarian section of the store hasn't increased prices like other sections, rather I think the selection is growing and the prices are going down still because of growing demand. So I think it might be a good time if you haven't tried some newer vegan and vegetarian products, to have a look and maybe find something to try. Regards from a uni student in Finland 👋

wow tysm for taking the time to write out all of these great tips! i totally agree about shopping seasonal produce since their price can range drastically depending on the month. my experience with canned meat isn’t the best so i’m not one to normally check that out, but i do like canned tuna! and wow thx for sharing that you’re from finland! i love to see that my content makes its way across the globe 💗
